Then why did they survey the land on SWF?

Thats the million dollar question. No way it fits a coaster.
Top 5: 1) El Toro. 2) Maverick. 3) Millenium Force. 4) Diamondback. 5) X2.
Coaster Count: 167 (41 Wood, 125 Steel)

It seems like they always had a focus on Hurricane Harbor, and in the commercials they always have been saying comes with your park admission. It's just it's hot, and they know when people are hot, they want to go to a waterpark so commercials and other ads will tempt them to come to the park.

david wrote:Body Slide Tower? Umm...WTF is that?!

Body Slide = It means you use no tube for the waterslide. You go down with just your self.
Tower = It means you go up a bunch of stairs to go up a complex, and there are multiple slides in order for you to go down. Let's say there are 4 body slides. You choose which one you want to go down because they might different. The body slides though are all from that height, and they usually all empty into a single pool down below, but there are other body slides like the one at Hurricane Harbor already that don't empty into a big pool, but rather just like a rectangular area with water at the end.

Although, when you think about it, a THBS would fit perfectly there.

One thing I'm shocked that hasn't happened yet is a separate entrance for guests who only want to go to HH. Not technically an expansion idea, but there's plenty of people who go to GAm just for HH yet pay full price for admission. Make a gate in the parking lot, charge $20 for water park only wristband and have someone at the in-park entrance there to check the wristbands.

Probably won't happen, but this seems like an easy way to make some money.

Maybe give the wristband to people who enter HH from in the park then. That way they're the only ones allowed back in.

Weber had a chance to get Deluge from Kentucky Kingdom (over RRE), but he didn't. That could have saved himself a great deal of money.

You know what? I agree with David, there will not be a water park expansion coming to us.
I have watched the video that Jonrev posted on youtube of him calling the Gurnee Zoning Board of Appeals, here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZ9MLhNac98&playnext=1&videos=_uLblzHr2NQ. The lady has approved Great America to build a ride that is at least 150ft tall in the video! Now tell me, what water park slide could possibly be 150 feet? any slide that tall can potentialy be unsafe, the only logical conclusion is that we're recieveing a new roller coaster. Wether or not it's Chang, I don't know. But i think when SFGAm told us that Chang wouldn't come to the park was a lie. I think they are trying to throw us off, seeing on how we're able to predict when we're going to get a major ride or coaster. Case in point, we were easily able to predict the arrival of Superman back before 2003. I just think they're tring to mislead us so they can try to keep some sort of secret.

So they would tear down a historic 170ft. coaster to keep chang a secret?

Thing is they would loose a bunch of money. The water park hits capacity all the time with people paying full price (well, full discounted price) for both parks. As nice as it would be to save guest some money, it won't happen.

Black Anaconda was really neat. A water coaster would be a good addition or a Point Of No Return type slide.

I don't really agree with either way you look at that statement. Sure, there are some (not a lot in my opinion) that ONLY go to the waterpark, and leave but most likely they are season pass holders anyway. For the most part, what I see is that people go for maybe 3-4 hours, and than leave the waterpark. For the some that just go to the waterpark, Six Flags as you say would be getting full price admission from those people as it is right now, so that's helping them more. With a separate admission priced waterpark though, what I see is that people might stay more days if they do something like that. They might dedicate a day just for the waterpark just as you would go let's say Noah's Ark for the whole day.

the original HH plans did include a separate admission gate which was never built. I personally think HH is a high enough quality waterpark to be a separate gate, remove it from the SFGAm ticket, keep that price the same and have separate admission for HH, then offer some sort of 2 day combo ticket at a reduced price. Would be better off for the park.

I see a Proslide Topsy Turvy and a ProSlide Rocket for 2011 water park expansion. If Mr. Six isn't retired a Mr. Six Splash Island will most definitely be added. Its a huge success at both SFMM and SFNE. SFGAm would get the SFNE version, which is a covered wavepool and a small lazy river. Very well themed incase you are wondering.

Here's a video of the Topsy Turvy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfJsQTrspI0

My first post in 2 months haha! But yeah, a water coaster would be friggin amazing! Either that or as mentioned before, a seperate entrance to the water park so anyone who wants to get into Hurricane Harbor won't be able to enter through the actual park entrance and use the entrance next to Viper. But I like the idea of keepin the prices separate of the water park and coaster park. Imagine how much more $$$ the park would get if they did that. Also I like the idea of offering a discount to people in the park, if they wanted to get into the other park. Such as if ur in the water park, then you can pay only $19.99 to get into Six flags coaster park. This is based on the idea of the twicket system they have. You know, twicket is the ticket you can get for $19.99 to come back another day. You can only get the twicket in the park. Can't wait to see what happens though. :)

The SFMM is a play structure and only that. The SFNE version is what I bolded in the quote above and a refurbed play structure. You're HH already has an awesome play structure. They bulldozed SFMM's and built Mr. Six's Splash Island over it. Both have a bunch of cabana's for the family, with refrigerators and TV's. Like I said, their big hits.

That's one of the worst things I've ever seen. That actually counted as a new anything?

Yeah, will stick with Skull Island even though haven't been inside the waterpark since the year it opened :)

Theres a lazy river that goes behind it and a big play structure like at the SFMM one to the left. Also infront of it there's a small little octopus thing and a little pirate ship. But you're one of the people that complains about Great America never getting thrills so I can see where you're coming from.
