There will be some new attraction where Space Shuttle America is because it still says coming 2011. They would have taken down the sign if nothing is coming.

There will not be a water park expansion for 2011.
Weber had a chance to get Deluge from Kentucky Kingdom (over RRE), but he didn't. That could have saved himself a great deal of money.
You know what? I agree with David, there will not be a water park expansion coming to us. I have watched the video that Jonrev posted on youtube of him calling the Gurnee Zoning Board of Appeals, here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZ9MLhNac98&playnext=1&videos=_uLblzHr2NQ. The lady has approved Great America to build a ride that is at least 150ft tall in the video! Now tell me, what water park slide could possibly be 150 feet? any slide that tall can potentialy be unsafe, the only logical conclusion is that we're recieveing a new roller coaster. Wether or not it's Chang, I don't know. But i think when SFGAm told us that Chang wouldn't come to the park was a lie. I think they are trying to throw us off, seeing on how we're able to predict when we're going to get a major ride or coaster. Case in point, we were easily able to predict the arrival of Superman back before 2003. I just think they're tring to mislead us so they can try to keep some sort of secret.
Has anyone been to the park latley to see if that one piece of Chang is still sitting behind Eagle. If it is, my prediction is that if it is still there for the next couple of weeks, Great Adventure will not be getting Chang.

The Chang supports aren't in a rush to leave. They have to prep the ground first with making footers, electrical stuff, and what not before they get to the supports, and actual track. Again, I think the only reason we got that Chang track was because they wanted the train to not rust away outdoors where the rest of the Chang track is, so they sent additional pieces on the truck with the trains that they could fit. Who knows, they might move them out after Fright Fest just so the enthusiasts won't follow the trucks all the way to Great Adventure.

DUDE. THE THREAD IS ABOUT IF THERE WAS A WATER PARK EXPANSION! This is getting stupid. Every thread I create, goes way off topic. What has happened to this site?
Have a take and don't suck, it's the Jim Rome Show!
Its like that in every thread I've found out. Just go with the flow. It doesn't matter that much on how off topic everyone gets. Everything leads to the same topic eventually.

Ever have a conversation with friends that started about, lets say, food and ended on a new music album? Same theory here.
It's very simple to see how this topic got as you say "off-topic" even though really it's still in the same realm as waterpark expansion. If a person reads the topic, it say water park expansion. Someone said, dude you know that the new ride looks like it's supposed to be at least 150 feet. There is no way that could be a waterpark ride for the "waterpark expansion". Hey dude, do you see Chang at the park? Yeah dude, Chang is still there? Hey, you know what we are getting Chang. There is no waterpark expansion.
So, is this topic really off-topic? Nope. Really though, you should have written in the topic what do you want for waterpark expansion because people are probably barely going to go back to page 1, and see what you meant by water expansion.
I don't understand why it really bothers you though about off-topic. At least people are enjoying your topic, and what not.

I think it is more of a related topic discussion. It started with a waterpark expansion with most of us guessing that the SSA area that once was thought to give a place for Chang to us, died down with the canceled meeting and the GASM removal and semi-confirmation that Chang is going to Jackson, NJ. It still remains that we have an area (SSA) that is ready for something new but we just don't know what yet.
I think of it as an evolution of the topic instead of something totally unrelated.
Well, Chang or not, what can we possibly get that's 150 ft tall that will fit the bill of a water ride or slide for HH? Would the Gurnee Zoning Board approve a 150ft. petition for nothing?
Another question, does SFGAm still have permission to build a 150ft. attraction for next year, or do they have to file another petition with the board?
^ The original 150 ft. petition you talked about was "proposed" for Chang....it currently has nothing to do (as we know of) of any new/updated information regarding 2011. Since Chang plans were canceled, that also nulls the zoning approval. *If* the park is/was going that route again with a different attraction, they would have to re-apply and submit their proposals for the new attraction.
At this point, the only people who know what's happening at GAm haven't spoken or made any press releases about 2011; if anything is even happening in 2011 to begin with. Just because a "FUNstruction" banner is attached to a fence that mentions 2011 really means nothing at this point in time.

You think SFGAm is trying to keep some kind of big secret from us? One way or another we usually find out what's really happening. So they might have learned to keep secrets better? or not...

What happened was administrators locking topics that can still be up for reasonable discussion.
^^ I really don't think anything until an official press-release is issued by Six Flags....and there has been nothing yet about any park and what the 2011 plans are besides SFOT and the Texas Giant makeover that was put into motion well before Weber took over.
I wouldn't say they are keeping some "huge" secret from anyone, but no one really seems to know what is happening for next season (and the park probably doesn't have a full grasp at what's happening yet either...especially since their "major" plan shifted within the last month and a half).
The advertisments on TV, coke cans, and in the papers have really been focused on Hurricane Harbour recently, so my guess is we'll get a Water Park expansion with a body slide tower, and possibly a Mr. Six Splash Island.
