Make me over a coaster

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby onyxhotel08 on July 7th, 2010, 10:38 pm
We are one of few major parks out there not to get a new theme/makeover on a ride. We have a good collection of coasters but they all lack an update which parks like SFNE and SFGadv have given to a ride in their park. Now, I know this differs from park to park, but which ride do you want to get "redone". Rethemed, repainted, and given new life for years to come. Superman? Iron Wolf? Raging Bull?

All our coasters have perfectly good themes, that's why we haven't gotten a new theme. I think I would like Bull to get new Behemoth Trains.

Raging Bull never got a "theme". Promised, not delivered.

Batman, back to the original themeing with the original graffitti on the walls and the Prince music playing in the background.

The only issue with revamping Demon is the ride's age. It's already 30+. The track can only last so long.

I'd rather them just save the money and get a new coaster, but if I were to pick something, it'd either be to put in the theming they were supposed to have on RB when it was built, or to fix the V2 holding brake

Funny! I would want the promised theming from Raging Bull. But really that's it and theming isn't really that important to me. I would rather have the money saved for a new ride or invested into other things to make the park better. Theming doesn't affect ride quality just look at Cedar Point.
"Park staff later claimed that they were offered a hundred bucks a pop to try to the slide, but refused after seeing that test dummies often emerged on the other end dismembered. The looping slide was actually closed down for most of the park’s life due to these injury concerns."

Well that would never happen, those trains are nearly twice as long.

Would be cool if Bull had the theming elements it was supposed to have and never got. The ending would be a lot better going between buildings and not a field of rocks.

Actually, that's a really good idea. Have posters for something like starburst, but use the old logo and such and make it look tattered and old. GREAT idea!

^LOL! I was actually making fun of the ridiculous amounts of ads thrown up everywhere around the park. I see what you are getting at, but I really dont see a sewage area as an area to post ads in the real world! :)

Are there plans floating around for the theming that was supposed to go to Bull? It's been awhile obviously, or maybe someone here could fill me in on what was supposed to be done.

I'm not sure I ever understood why they de-themed Batman to the extent that they did. Demon could use an update as well.

How about we get Iron Wolf redone. It's my favorite ride and I know that not many people feel the same way. However, if this ride gets redone instead of scrapped, it could boost attendance and it could make more people ride the ride.

THEORY TIME

So here is my THEORY not a RUMOR. THEORY THEORY THEORY. What if Chang's trains were to be used for Iron Wolf. People have been saying that Chang is not going to Great America. BUT, WHAT IF our 50th Anniversary present was Iron Wolf to get new trains, AKA Newly painted Chang trains? Anyone think this is possible? Has anyone seen the trains still there?

The trains are in a private non-public storage building, and have most likely been transported to Great Adventure by now.

Yeah, I'm fairly positive the Chang trains are gone from the maintenance building where they were stored...

As for a coaster make-over... I say none. Just focus on saving as much as possible to free ourselves from corporate sponsors and all the ridiculous ad-wraps.

New trains on Iron Wolf will not grab the attention of gp. As they did for the 45th anniversary, they will most likely advertise the anniversary all over the park. The gp will probably be expecting new. (at least to them) I know you meant it as a theory.

^ v2 doesn't really have a theme at all. It's not an eyesore by any means, it's very good looking in my opinion, but a theme for that would be great.
