While not a water park, SF STL used to (might still) put a haunted walk through in their Rapids Ride track. From what I was told, it was a smash hit every year.

NO NO NO NO This is what is ruining FF.....David, with all due respect...its FRIGHT FEST!! I don't see why sfgam can't be on par with CP's Halloweekends....
Have a take and don't suck, it's the Jim Rome Show!
Unfortunately I do not know what Weber is thinking now. Cancelling Chang at the last minute when we had no back up plan was stupid. Great Adventure didn't HAVE to remove GASM NOW.

And GASM was not remoevd because of a lack of parts, or DEMON, Viper and a few others would be leaving, right?
alright come on back on topic whats seven sin cemetery going to be like i hope not like last year

Can't we all just wait and see how it is going to be first before just assuming that it's going to be botched becasue Six Flags is taking over? All JPM supplied was the labor for the roles. The overall "head honchos" of Fright Fest that deisgn and implement everything is entertainment anyways.
instead of having dick clark movie in the pictorium like last year during fright fest they should put back haunted castle i mean its fright fest they should put some movie thats related for halloween

All the questions "Is this going to be there, What will this be like, How is this going to be" is totally irrelevant. We can speculate ALL we want, but until official word gets out, NO ONE has any idea. Why don't we wait to start discussing this stuff until mid next month when things maybe start coming out.
To give you all something to wet your craving for Fright Fest info, TT2 work is going well.

I hope and pray it will be. That was the best year for Area 51.
What was BOO line? I know it was a FF ride on the train, but I don't remember it...
Also, I have a friend who is a lifeguard in HH now, and she said that some lifeguards were contacted about working for fright fest. They said they couldn't tell them what exactly, but thay didn't need any experience and jokingly, they asked if anyone could be scary or had a street acting career...
The Boo Line was the train during Fright Fest. You could only board the train at the back train station, next to Iron Wolf. Along the way, creatures would attack the train and tons of visuals would be present to look at. Once it reached the other station, a small show would happen. More actors would attack the train - even boarding it!
The Boo Line was fantastic, and usually required waiting for a lengthy amount of time.
"Pig" Man and the Scooby Doo thing was just awful.
I don't foresee seeing "The Boo Line" ever again.
Also - I disagree, Area 51 was the best when it took over Predator & Space Command. (Iron Wolf & Fiddler's Fling).
Mayor Slayer and his minions will be missed. His spirit will forever reign over Fright Fest!
I hope FF will still be awesome, and was somewhat encouraged for the first time since the JPM announcement when on Saturday I saw the "street performance" of the Old West play in Southwest Territory. The actors in that were pretty good and if GA can get a bunch of these guys together for Fright Fest, maybe it won't be terrible after all. That said, I'm still nervous the park is going to hire a bunch of minimum wage kids who will be terrible at trying to scare people.
We'll see, but honestly the park is losing the heart and soul of Fright Fest by letting Mayor Slayer and company go. Those guys are awesome!
We were the ONLY park that outsourced for Fright Fest. Has anyone ever been to another park's Fright Fest? I have been to Magic Mountain's and I must say, it was fantastic. That being said, let's wait to see what the park is like before we start making crazy accusations that it won't be good. I look forward to seeing what will happen with the money we are saving from outsourcing.
I do agree Mayor Slayer is a vital part of Fright Fest, but don't knock the entire production simply because of that. I have been to Fright Fest countless times when I just never find him, and I still have a good time.
I enjoy the early talk of Fright Fest, but can we keep the negative comments to a minimum - it simply makes the thread pointless and does not help boost excitement.

I have heard the same thing about all their employees being begged to be street characters even the leads because they can't get enough people. The problem is all the people who worked FF worked there for years and years and the people JPM didn't hire will be the first to get hired now. They weren't hired for a reason JPM really knew what they were doing. Six flags also doesn't own any costumes, have makeup artists that have done FF and the stilt walkers for Glow in the Park are not from werewolves from years passed. No JPM workers can work FF this year. Maybe it will be better maybe it won't. But I won't just be missing Mayor Slayer. Think about the Twins, Mary Catherine the school girl, the bride and groom, the nanny, sparks the gravedigger, the janitor ahem I mean Sanitation Engineer. Unfortunately all the JPM crew we have come to see year after year and make FF not just scary but entertaining will not be back. And this park has been known to have the best FF from all other parks because of JPM and it is noted as such. I just think they are getting in a little over their heads. Remember this decision was made under Shapiro and I know for a fact the park was pissed about it. The park individually knew they needed JPM's help. That's why they are putting all these hiring events for FF because they are desperate. Of course I will still go to see what happens but I think it is just upsetting. However I did hear JPM might be doing some type of scary event in the Gurnee area, if I find anything out about that I will post.

Yeah, Great America and Magic Mountain in the past years has held the best Fright Fests. The other parks, simply suck.

You're kidding, right? The disaster of Seven Sins Cemetery last year? THAT'S what the "head honchos of entertainment" came up with. They're also the fools responsible for the horrible turn the Demons thing took (Really? I'm paying to walk in a fence in zig zag for 30 seconds?!?) and the Army guys, while a little better, still wasn't worth the money. Not to mention that they refuse to let JPM design the haunted houses and instead just throw whatever mechanical crap they can into it. No, the bozos you're talking about hacked the Vampires, Werewolves, and Pirates last year and gave us garbage. Those werewolves were JPMs too. You can always tell because the guys on stilts for Six Flags are WAY less fun to watch than JPM's people.
And besides all of that, what about makeup and costumes? Didn't you ever see the stuff in the paper about Fright Fest? JPM had like 30 professionals doing makeup! My sister and I even watched them walk the clows out of their area for "touch ups". No way Six Flags can match that! They can't even get people with good singing voices for half their shows!
My sister even saw an ad on Model Mayhem for Fright Fest creatures! Are they really that desperate and dumb that they're going to try and get a bunch of teenaged girls to do it? Seriously, wtf??
All the "head honchos" are doing is making yet another HUGE mistake. This is going to be the worst year ever
