Flip Flops

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Can I wear Flip Flops at Six Flags and not use lockers before riding roller coasters? Or do I have to buy a locker in order to ride them b/c of their Loose Article Policy?

Thanks.

At most rides you can put your sandals in a cubby, like raging bull but others you are required to wear them like AE, Viper, Demon...

You are required to wear shoes on all rides except Raging Bull, Superman: Ultimate Flight, Batman, and Vertical Velocity (v2).

You can choose not to wear them on King Chaos, Giant Drop & Sky Coaster as well.

I love wearing my sandals/flip flops to GAm in the summer. Feels great on hot days, especially on the rides. Although the other day I finally coerced my friend into going on some water rides (he usually hates them) and of course his shoes got drenched because they don't allow you to take your shoes off.

I am guessing it is for health reasons? But its unfortunate that people cannot take off their shoes before going on Rapids or Loggers Run ect... Nothing worse than walking around in wet socks/shoes!

Best thing to do: Go to a bathroom and dry your socks. ;) Those dryers work really good.

Sandals work great too. And you do not need socks. It is not hot for your feet & they are almost as cheap as flip flops.

One word of advice with sandals is never wear a nice pair to the park as people will try to steal them. People have tried multiple times to steal my Birkenstock ones. I get that they are expensive, but trying to steal used sandals is just stupid.

Umm, no they are not. I would loose them on any ride where feet dangle.

I have sandals that have elastic straps & no socks dries out in 5 min, never had a issue on the rides I never take off my sandals off.

IDK how anyone can walk around the park on foam flip flops.

^If they are all you wear, you get used to it. I did a day at the Magic Kingdom in them for 14 hours last August and had no problems. Once I moved over to Birkenstocks, I can't even wear they to get the mail.

Any sandal that fastens with velcro over the top of the foot and around the back of the heel are probably your best bets. Just remember give them a little tug before you go on anything that flips upside down or has your feet dangle. Never lost mine. But you have to get a good kind not like the payless 1.50 special a good base price should be around 25.00. hope it helps.

I just lol'd at this post. Yes, you can. Roller Coaster WITHOUT a floor you can take them off....i.e. Batman, Superman, Raging Bull, etc. No lockers required because you should wear them in line. And for rides with a floor you must wear them.

Not for health reasons, but more for an easier walk down during an evacuation.
