Flash Passes?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Sorry for the question thread, as I did see another thread mainly for questions - but didnt really see anything relevant to what I'm asking in it, and dont have time to sift through it all to find an answer.

As the title implies, I have questions about Flash Passes. We're coming from across state on July 10th, which is a Saturday - so I'm sure we're going to need one, as we'd be quite upset not being able to get many rides in after a 3.5 hour drive.

Question 1: What is the major difference between the Gold and Platinum Pass, other than ride twice? Like, if the line is 10 minutes long (Yeah, I know - no line is that short) Would a Platinum have you wait 1 minute while a Gold has you wait 7? I mean, what's the difference as far as waits go?

Also, are you able to use the pass more than once on each ride??? That's really my major concern. There are only certain rides I want to ride, and if I can only use it to ride Superman once...well, that pretty much blows. I dont mind having to get off and re-queue it, I just want to know that I can use it as many times as I want on the rides I want to ride.

We're leaning towards gold. Is that the way to go?

Thanks!

I have an answer to one of your questions where you asked if you could reserve a ride multiple time and the answer is yes. When I used a flash pass we reserved raging bull about 10 times. But, you cannot reserve multiple rides at the same time.

Thank You! That, is excellent. I'd read a few different things on different sites - and some of them looked like you could only use it once for each ride. It's a bit confusing trying to find information on how they work.

Looks like I'll be riding Superman about 17 times. 8)

Yes, you could use your flash pass on a coaster more than once. You can not reserve more than one coaster at time though.

With a GOLD pass, If you want to ride Superman and the wait is about an hour. Reserve it, ride some other ride with shorter line and wait for the pass to notify you in about 45 mintues to ride Superman.
With a Platinum pass, If you want to ride Superman and the wait is about an hour, reserve it, and wait for it notify you in about 15 mins. PLUS you will get to ride the ride again without getting off.

The Platinum pass does cost a little more. Decide carefully.

Sorry if my math is off, but I just got done working..and counting loads of someone else's money...

So with the Platinum pass, you cut 75% of the people in line - while with the gold you cut 25% of the people in line?

I know theoretically, it isnt cutting since you're in a virtual queue - but still.

Eh, I dont give a shit about the glares I'll get. They have the same opportunity I have to buy a flash pass. If the rest of the people going along had the extra cash, I'd get the platinum just so they could watch me ride twice.

I've gotta drive 3-4 hours across state to get to the park, I dont want to spend all day waiting in line if theres a way I dont have to.

Gold is about 75% less wait time. Platinum 90%. Trust me as I have used the Gold on a lot of busy days. Gold is your best bet as the only way I would see someone wanting to spend $20-$30 more is if they wanted to re-ride again. I don't need to.

VIP is 100% less wait time and you get to tell the Platinum Flash Pass rider "Beat it chump, you're in my seat." if they think they are taking a reride in the seat you want.

Thanks. This is pretty much exactly what I was figuring. So if the wait is 100 minutes - Platinum will call you after 10, and Gold will call you after about 25?

I really didnt think we needed to shell the extra for platinum.
