It was during the morning when the park was closed I believe. Shockwave was testing.

What accident? Was someone injured?

Don't quote me on this but I believe I was told that the nasty g-forces from the mid-course, or the turn before, finally caused one of the trains to destroy itself during early morning testing. If it wasn't the fiberglass body, then it was the chassis, and it may have been both but I'm not 100% sure.

I heard that there was a wheel separation/malfunction.

How is it that the train destroyed itself without any passengers? Does that mean if there were passengers it would have been worse?

The G-Forces were intense on shockwave, which in turn put a lot of stress on the trains. Passengers from the previous night probably delivered the final blow....then testing in the morning brought the trouble.

I'm just confused because, the ride didn't change at all. How did it just one day become more forceful?

From what I remember I believe the wheel/axle on one of the cars broke during the first half of the ride and it stalled at the mid course brakes. There were passengers on the train if I remember correctly.

I do not know if this was the final nail in the coffin or just a coincidence that help speed up the process for removing the coaster.

Isn't this a near similar case to DEMON's 1996 accident?

Shockwave's accident was without passengers. Think it happened between 8 and 9 A.M.

It didn't, the stress just damaged the ride over time.

EVERY time I get on I regret it like no tomorrow. It's so rough it's insanity, they need to give it some TLC. I was on it yesterday and it took forever to get rid of the headache.
