Going this weekend, probably Friday, by the bus. Dad taking me to Rosemont brother taking me back. Has anyone here gone on the buses before? How many people usually with you? When do u get there? Where does the bus park? Any extra info on a bus trip would be very appreciated.
I take the bus when I go. How many people go with you or how many people are on the bus? It depends on construction on what time you get to the park, on Friday we didn't get to the park until 10:45 because construction was so bad. The bus leaves the park after it drops you off but picks you up in the same spot it drops you off 15 minutes after the park closes.
Last year, a friend and I had a nightmare bus trip. It took 30 minutes for 2 additional buses to get to Rosemont because so many people were there. The lead bus driver got lost. We didn't even get on the tollway until 10:30. We didn't get to the park until 11:45. Then on the way home, a different driver also got lost. We finally got to Rosemont at 12:15 AM. I've never had problems that bad before and haven't taken the bus there since but it was not fun. I have seen large amounts of people waiting for the buses on Friday mornings this year. So be prepared for some delays as they never seem to have enough buses there initially for the demand.
I went July 3rd this year and we had to take 4 buses up to the park because it was so crowded, that day we didn't get to the park till 11:45 and we got home that night at 1 am because we sat in construction for 4 hours. I've had some good trips and bad trips with the bus.
I would also expect HUGE bus crowds b/c read to succeed ends Sunday

Don't be scared. I've had some quick trips on the bus too. Just make sure you have a way to occupy yourself. I make fun of the other people on the bus.
It's easy to find them. They are usually at the lane farthest from the train station. They say "Great America" on the front. You go straight to the park. Get dropped off by Superman. Make sure you're on time when you go home though.
Well I get on the bus at Schaumburg and it leaves at 9, it usually gets to Rosemont around 9:30. I would get there early though and just wait because you never know when it's going to leave Schaumburg because when I went friday we didn't leave Schaumburg until 9:30 because our bus driver was so stupid and was chatting with the other bus driver.
The chatting is a problem. I guess because the Great America express doesn't have as strict a schedule as the other Pace routes they feel they can take their time. I usually get to Rosemont by 9 so I can attempt to get near the front of the pack and get on the first bus because that driver is usually the one who knows his way the best.
I will be going through the Rosemont station Sunday. What does it mean it connects to the O'Hare blue line? Does the bus still take you straight to Six Flags? Will I arrive by 10?
Thanks for the help guys! Anyway, what if I don't catch the bus in either Rosemont or Schaumberg in th emorning but want to take it at night? That's fine right I just go on the bus by Superman and pay $4?
Sorry to bring back an old topic, but what time do you think is best time to arrive at the bus station? and does the bus usually arrive before opening?

which bus station are you going to Rosemont or Schamburg? no most of the time you sit at Rosemont forever waiting for another bus, I didn't get to the park on Sunday till 10:30. This is why I hate taking the bus because it's a real pain in the butt that you pay to get the park before opening and that it doesn't take years to get to the park. One day I didn't get to the park till 12:30 due to construction. That was quite fun, and if you read my trip report from Sunday you will see why I hate the bus. The only reason I take it is because it's cheaper.
