The bus that goes to the park started today so I decided to take it because I didn't want to pay for parking again so it took forever for the bus to arrive then we arrived at stupid Rosemont and had to sit there and wait for a new driver who had never driven to Six Flags before. Once finally arriving at the park at 10:30, first ride was Whizzer great as always and then headed to Viper, Bull and Demon. Then took a lunch break, skipped Eagle for now and headed to Dipper which was still fun. Then went on V2 and Batman before going to watch Looney Tunes Dance Off.
Then I went on TDK and skipped SUF again. I then went on Columbia and made my way around again with Whizzer times 2, skipped Viper and went on Bull and then headed to Eagle and waited for red side which still has one red train. Then went on the train to relax a bit before going on Bull. After Bull it started raining about 5ish and rained for a bit, then around 7 it started raining again and it cancelled the parade yet again. So after everyone left the park, I went and rode Sky Trek and then headed to Bull 8 more times before heading to the bus to head home. Now this is where the nightmare began, the stupid bus driver had no idea where he was going. Got off the wrong exit and that took 15 minutes to turn around and head back in the direction we should have been going 15 minutes before. After that, we had to stop at Rosemont yet again, we had 2 buses thinking one was going to Rosemont, one going to Schamburg. Why do you need two buses to go to Rosemont? I mean seriously, so after 2 hours on the bus I finally got home. I am not happy with the way Pace was today. The park in all was good, the rain scared everyone away, I do have pictures but I have to downsize them and am not in the mood right now so don't get angry if I don't have them right away. Next trip won't be till the 17th. Oh and I forgot to add, Raging Bull has now become Starburst the ride.
The only reason I take the bus is because it is cheaper, I don't have 15 dollars for parking and I'm moving so I can't get a parking pass. Yes I know, it was a disaster but it's still cheaper to get to the park.
My once and only time the bus was not there when it was supposed to. The park tried to say to me it was but at 10:15 on August 23rd (Pretty sure) 2009 there was NO bus. It is supposed to be there 15 minutes after closing.
That's what happened to me but he did eventually show, they always arrive late. I complained to Pace yesterday that's just unacceptable. I understand you had a bad time as did I but like I just said, it is cheaper than parking. I know I could get a parking pass only if I wasn't moving.
The better thing to me would be for them to actual get a train station nearby. To me, that area deserves it. I know of Metra going to Libertyville, but that's still a distance. You have one of the biggest malls in the US, and probably the biggest mall in IL, an amusement park, an indoor waterpark connected to a hotel, and tons of food places. The cubs and sox get a train (the L), why not Six Flags Great America?
"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"
If parking is an issue, drive to Gurnee Mills then take the pace bus to the park and back. The Metra from Libertyville is around 10 miles from the park.
I know I could drive to Gurnee Mills, I do appreciate the information you gave me, I'm not ignoring it but it's the issue of driving to the mall. Because I have to pay for gas and such, I'm just saying I'm trying to find ways to save cash and I thought the bus was cheaper which it is, but was rather unreliable that day.
