I'm heading to the park tomorrow and want to take some pics of Chang. Does anyone know where the staircase and support are? Also, can I walk down that one road on the left side of Superman?

The staircase and support have been MIA since November. You will see them in less than 5 months.

They're not MIA....They are still in the Lot. It's hard to call something "Missing" when we know where it is.

They are quite hard to see from Iron Wolf. Your going to have to look really hard. I found the staircase once, but none more.

Alright, will Six Flags yell at me if I walk down the road to the left of Superman?

Possibly. Security rolls through there often.

They won't "yell at you". They will most likely Ask you to leave the area and delete any photos if they see you have a camera.

I would definitely walk down that road if I were you. As long as you're not climbing over any gates or entering any restricted areas you're not really doing anything wrong.

It does say no trespassing at the employee gate so I can obviously infer that you don't go any farther than superman. If the employee lot is off limits to pedestrians, then i'm pretty sure the road isn't much different.

back in the day I used to go down that road all the time and never had any issues, even when going back in direct view of security. As it's been said, as long as you don't mess with anything or climb fences or anything, you should be fine. That is of course unless they have put up a new sign recently saying no entry or something of that nature out by superman, then all bets are off.

Mantis has run 3 trains in years? Went twice last year, 2 days each, and once this year, 2 days and every single time it was 3 train op and it worked just fine

Ok I'm gonna call BS on that no offense. After workin at the park for 2years, I know the third train is in pieces under the storage tracks. It has not ran on 3train op for years, & that last year I believe was 2000.

You have no business being there and if everyone did that they would have a big problem so I would say don't do it.

Correct. Mantis has not run 3 trains in years. Two trains run and the 3rd train is in pieces under the storage tracks. Due to the load times I believe they deemed it no better to run 3 than 2. You stack almost every time with 2 trains anyway, so three is just going to leave people waiting out on the brakes for a longer amount of time.

Agreed. & to anyone who has been stuck on a ride in the brakes knows most just simply don't like it, let alone sittin there in the summer heat. OR when you're in the flyin position for OVER 45min with all the blood rushin to your head!!....oh sorry wrong topic ;)

^Yeah to me Superman is the most uncomfortable ride to be stuck for anytime. The only thing it's good for is someone throwing up on the brakerun instead of on themselves. I was on one time, and someone chunked up they seafood, or something. Also though, the Vekoma one (Flying Dutchman - Firehawk, Batwing, X-Flight) isn't comfortable to me either to be stuck in that position - on your back.

A stand-up to me doesn't feel bad at all to me to be stuck on. You are standing, but really you have a bicycle seat there.

It was bad....but for some reason people really complained about bein stuck on Mantis when I worked there.

This is random, but the more I think about Chang, the more I get excited!

So this Which i finally got on there, Is a pic of SFKK's Chang construction & what the ride looked liked as it was bein erected. This view will give us an idea of what it will somewhat look like goin in at SFGAm!!

I am so excited for Chang to enter as the newest coaster in the line-up. However, I still ask myself "don't we deserve more." We are constantly rated one of the best amusment parks in the world, and certainly one of the best six flags (not much competition there). However, it feels like we are being neglected if the only way we can get a new roller coaster is if another park closes down, or if the coaster is a duplicate. I know that six flags has been going through some financial wows, but I still think they could stop focusing on SFMM and SFGA, and start focusing a little more on us. Just my thoughts, but never the less I am still really excited.
"Park staff later claimed that they were offered a hundred bucks a pop to try to the slide, but refused after seeing that test dummies often emerged on the other end dismembered. The looping slide was actually closed down for most of the park’s life due to these injury concerns."

Welcome to the Forums! ....But Great America is not neglected, I mean we DO have 14 Roller Coasters.

And most the coasters we do have are not duplicated or from another park. Batman was the first Looping suspended and Raging Bull was the first Hyper. Our park is pretty authentic if you ask me.

NO ONE LIKES THE PHOTO?! Haha aww damn :(

Well to be nerdy & let everyone say "wow, Jimmy has nothin better to do", I am readin an old article in RollerCoaster! Magazine on the (then) 25th anniversary of the stand up coaster from Summer2007. The more I look at these B&M standups like Mantis, Chang, & RR, I get a tummy ache of joy! However, I too ask myself Why we are not receiving somethin new, unique due to what other parks could use Chang. BUT nonetheless, I've already taken it in, its comin here & I am nothin more than thrilled! As I said, This is a huge coaster were talkin about here tjat many parks would love to receive.

I love its massive structure, straight-not common B&M drop, its 5inversions, & fluidity(changes in direction). I think many guests are gonna walk on that platform with smiles & leave with them as well!

I really believe that people would love it, but I hope it has a good makeover (sound, effects, etc.). None the less people will like it.

Why do some parks put up coasters un-painted? Isn't it easier to paint them (and safer) on the ground?

Maybe because they get dinged up when being constructed and painting them after construction prevents any major scratches or dings?
