Is it bright? Is it dim? Give your thoughts on Iron Wolf and it's condition overall.
I really don't understand why many of you say that Wolfie is getting old, or that it finally time to remove it. Does this mean that in three years it's time to get rid of Batman? No way. By these standards Demon and Whizzer should have been gone AGES ago. But here they are.
Wolfie's only problem is the trains. It's structurally fine, and all of it's systems are working fine.
It's time for it to go due to a lack of lines and just being awful. Age really has nothing to do with it so much as it has if a ride sucks, people want it gone.
New trains wont help. People will still refuse to ride it. I dont mind it to much, maybe im just to it. I want it gone for something new like a big flat or compact coaster with good capacity. Like a compact dive machine or something.

I know most of the public is oblivious to this, but Iron Wolf was B&M's first coaster, so wouldn't it be missed by coaster enthusiasts if it was removed? Sure it's not smooth and barely ever has a line, but I think it's one of the great rides at SFGAm. It's also one of the few roller coasters here that's not a clone.
Great America will not add something new for at least two years after the removal. They could have put Buccaneer Battle in Splashwater Falls area, and put up a nice cheap flat ride in Vu's but yet, they've still not replaced Splash Water Falls.
Face it. Our park just got Chang. Any rumor for a Dive Machine is DEAD.
Ok, then say Wolfie stays for 3 years. Lets say what happens. -The GP continues to dislike it. -Chang comes as the new stand-up, Wolfies lines go down even more seeing how much better Chang is. -Wolfie continues to rot away at the edge of the park. -By this time it will be a complete waste of space.
Im sure if Wolfie got a make over with retracking, new trains, ect. It could be good for a park like SFA or SFM, but I dont think it can survive here with its bad name.

Why couldn't they just get new Trains with Restraints like Superman, Repaint the Ride Like Riddler's Revenge, add Onboard Audio, and replace the Rough Sections with New Deep Spine Track to and Rename it "Green Lantern."
Sounds Simpler and Probably Less Expensive then adding a 2nd Stand Up Coaster and Removing 90 Parking Spaces.

I wan't some back-up proof on if this was actually said; if it was stated that it would be 2-3 years or just for that season. That doesn't seem like something the park will speak of, especially with such a specific time frame.
The park doesn't care about the history of the coaster. Sure it was the first B&M, but does that really bring in the riders? Whizzer's a classic and they considered tearing that sucker down before. What's stopping them from getting rid of Wolf?
SWF is a special case, and was an out dated ride that the park didn't want to take care of anymore. But if you're going to get rid of a big name attraction, or any attraction in general that is working just fine, there is usually going to be something to replace it the following season.

For some STRANGE reason, I feel like it's cheaper to relocate Chang rather than ask B&M to design a completely new train that doesn't even exist and ask them to manufacture specific parts of a coaster. I really don't think new trains, paint, and a new name, is as easy to market as a "new" ride at the front of the park.

ACER: Can you say anything about Iron Wolf's trains this season?
Dameon: I can say, Iron Wolf will be running Iron Wolf's trains this season. I can say Iron Wolf will be running Iron Wolf's trains next season and the season after.
ACER: Are those the same trains that operated last year?!
*laughs*
Dameon: YES! Those are the same trains that operated last season. We have no plans for Iron Wolf.... Except for Fright Fest of course. When uhh.. it becomes Iron Ware-Wolf.

Agreed. Going to be sad seeing it goe.

For Demon, it's more of an intermediate ride and I think that's the reason it's still at the park, and it's a looping ride. What other ride at our park has loops, and has a short height limit? Think about this. Aren't all the B&Ms 54 inch rides? I like Demon, but seeing the lines the ride I could see it easily leaving the park, but Iron Wolf is a bigger fish to fry at the park. The thing is you need to get another ride that goes upside down, and has a shorter height requirement. At Six Flags Over Georgia, Magic Mountain and Texas the intermediatie upside down rides are Shrawtykop which is out of business (Mindbender, Revolution and Shockwave). At Cedar Point, they have ride across from Dragster like Demon that's an Arrow. Well, Arrow is gone, and it's now S&S. That ride is similar to Demon.
Disney is the company that has some lower height requirement rides that go upside down. There's California Screamin (which is a big ride, and probably was very expensive to make), and AeroSmith at Hollywood Studios (MGM) seems low to me. These are newer rides (Vekoma & Intamin). At Dollywood's it's another Arrow ride that goes upside down.
Batman the Ride still gets longer lines. For Whizzer, I think it's easy to replace the ride with a mine train that reminds of me of it. It's not gone because it's a more kid roller coaster. Now though the park has been getting more kids type of roller coasters.
The thing with Iron Wolf is that yes it is older, but it's a rougher ride especially if you don't know the trick. Even I know the trick, my ears still hit the harness a little bit, so that's why people don't like it. For capacity, it gets less capacity than the other B&Ms being a 7 row train, and it seems slower to load than the other roller coasters.

^Each ride has profit number based on cost & ridership. Once a coaster or ride moves into the side where it is loosing large amounts of money or a new ride will be worth more, the old ride goes.
Given the compact size of the ride and the theming..it fits perfect where it is at. The only reason it should leave is because we are adding another stand up. If you surveyed 100 theme park goers, and they had to choose one ride type to not add another of... it would be stand ups. For that reason, maybe it should be removed for a new flat.
David Iron Wolf has NEVER been confirmed as "safe" besides this season. His talk was basically meant to stop people from thinking any major changes are coming either this season or next. The park may not even know yet what the future seasons hold for Iron Wolf yet. They are busy getting Chang ready to rise again and while I think it is possible to run 2 stand ups for a season or two, in the long run is not realistic and Wolf will MOST likely be sent to another park where it will finally get some TLC. We have NO use for a ride as unpopular as Wolf. It has flaws and no lines just like....Shockwave!
