Oh and Timmy, put me down for that 1000 dollar offer. A thousand G's for doing nothing can't hurt!

Well actually 1000 G's would be a million dolars and i cant put out that much. :P

You guys have to remember that when shockwave was around, its line was allways empty. By 2000 everyone thought it was a painfull ride and no one liked it but us. I even liked it more just because it had no line. If they were to rebuild it they would have to do smething to the restraints because other wise, people wouldn't ride it. And I would never want a floorless with its layout. EVER. It would ruin the point of a fllorless, and ruin the layout. I want the old shockwave back with new restraints, nothing else changed.

I Agree with Aero it will probally meet the same fate as its older sister SkyWhirl!

realy it can probly stay there i mean its been outside in the rean snow hot cold weather for 15 years now i think it can take more and if it cant they wouldnt just leave it there they would have already sent it out. i think its going somewhere or else it wouldnt be there anymore they wouldnt keep aride for no reason.

Parts of rides. I believe Greatamerica2003 said something about what ride parts they have left. I don't think they really have a whole ride. Most of the parts of skywhirl have been scrapped, and I think some of powerdive. So maybe they will keep 1/2 of Shockwave's supports for some reason....they left skywhirl's cages.

I sure hope that Shockwave will be rebuilt. It was my favorite. I once played a stupid game on that ride: How many times can you ride it w/o getting a headache. My record was 7. I think. Or was it 9? No wait!... :)

Was it more of the GP that complained of the head banging, or was it a general comment made from everyone? I never had any problems with head banging. in my opinion, IW is more of a head banger for me than SW ever was. I doubt it will ever get rebuilt, and if it did, it wouldn't be here so don't keep your hopes up about that. If you really feel the need to ride something like it, I suggest you visit SFGAdv or SFMM.

You don't even have to travel to SFMM or SFGAdv.

Just head down to PKI and ride Vortex. Its not the same layout as Shockwave, but it is an Arrow megalooper and a much better one I might add.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

The reason I think SW won't get moved to another park is due to the reputation it got here.
Its hard to come up with signatures. When I get one it will be right here.

Your right it probably wont be moved to another park. I mean with all the complaints no one is going to want a ride that gave people headaches. And because of that its not going to get rebuilt. There either going to A. Sell it for scrap metal B. Let it sit there on the hill or C. sell it on eBay lol. And putting it back up would also give us a bad image in a way. If we put it back then why did we take it down in the first place. Plus if it does go back up that would mean we wouldnt get a new kind of coaster and instead get shockwave back, now which one would you want????

How would it be bad if they put it up they could maybe make it smother. Than I see why they took it down.

If they rebuild all they have to pay for is the constructions, and thats only like a couple of million. So they wouldnt have to pay for the ride and for the construction, all they have to pay for is contruction. I doubt it would take away fropm a new ride. Finally if they were going to send it to another park, they would have allready.

I would rather that they put the couple million toward a rocket or 4D in 05.

I want shockwave, but please people, If they add shockwave, it'll take away land for future new BETTER rides. Think about it. They took down shockwave because no one liked riding it. Puting it up at our park would be pointless because it wont got the attendence, and takes away a huge chuck of land for a 4d, rocket, floorless, or whateverv they may want to build.

The Great American Scream Machine @GAdv is pretty much the same ride as Shockwave. Only 5 feet shorter though.

planea380, we dont have that land anymore. Plus, our park doesn't have a lot of land. All that we have left is parking lot.

Well actually if we ever do get a floorless....we could actually fit it if we do what Alton Towers does.......Incorperate the ride with the given area. Almost like what they did with Air. It goes up and around the pathways. All we really need is a spot for a station and a queue and they could probably pull it of.f

We won't be getting any new coaster soon because of what I've heard, SF corp., only has like $70 million. They probably focused on getting finacally stable. The only new things we are going to see in the near future is a new flat next year, maybe two, and maybe some new kiddy attractions.

But I thought the only reason Shockwave got taken down was because the General Manager of the Park, whose name excapes me, didn't like it and wanted to get rid of it ever since the late 90s. :? I have also looked at pics from sky tower and it looks like shockwave took up more land than Superman does. My point is, why did they take down a ride that was taller, faster, and longer than Superman. When I have ridden it I didn't think it hurt that much. All you have to do is keep your head agaist the head rest. :D

but GA could easily ask Gurnee to build on it again and Gurnee would let them. It would be awesome if we got one of those indoor waterparks there. That would be a very large draw in the winter and it would give Chicagoans a shorter trip than the Dells.
you can't believe it - you didn't mean it
