Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

^I'd guess that would be the only one that has a chance due to the college and high school students still being in school.

bad business day for the park to say the least. im all set for next weekend whic so far looks warmer (60's) and clear skies. Should be busier but nothing extreme.

Saturday 59 70% scattered t-storms
Sunday 51 (lol) 80% rain/thunder

And WHAT was last weekend like? And the one before?

The weather said yesterday it was supposed to rain and it didn't and so far today it didn't so there is a small chance that it will rain tmorrow. Besides, I am going no matter what the weather is like :D

This is a a 72 hour precipitation forecast. Notice anything in particular about Northern Illinois?

^That forecast makes no sense. It says under Today Sun Followed by Clouds, and it doesn't show rain, but underneath it says for day night thunderstorms, and rain. That is a messed up site wherever you are getting it from. I just hopes it rains bad on Friday so it will go away tomorrow. Right now, on the map I see a bunch of rain. Please, pour and pour TODAY!! Get rid of it out of your system weather.

^If you look closely, the bottom forecast is for tomorrow (The one with the lightning and rain)

As me and Galvan have pointed out, the National Weather Service should be the ONLY site you use for weather.

David, that looks like weather.com and if you see right below your forecast it says "2 INCHES OF RAIN ON THE WAY"

Do you have an idea how much 2 inches of rain is when you compare it to snow? 2 inches of rain is approximately 20 inches of snowfall.

You can be positive, but unless your a hop and a skip away from the park, just wait until next weekend.

That 2.00 means the Chicago area can expect around 2 inches (1.5-2.5 more or less) of rain Saturday and Sunday

Everyone should wait till next weekend. Nothing must-go about this Saturday and Sunday. This isn't the opening weekend of Little Dipper. This isn't HH opening weekend. What's one more week? Just a thought that right now next weekend so far says 30% chance both days but more than likely it will be clear and at least 10-15 degrees warmer.

The Dark Knight Coaster is the only coaster that operates in all weather. All outdoor coasters will shut down in heavy rain or if there is lightning. Ragin' Cajun, Whizzer, and Spacely's will not operate in any rain.

I don't know if I should go. I live 1h 15m away. I'm going with my friend who is only getting a 1-day ticket, and if the park closes, her money will be wasted. But seriously. It's OPENING DAY. I could wait another week, but do I want to? Of course not. Patience is a virtue, but it's not my virtue. ;P

I think I'm going to stick it out until tom. morning. Would it work out to call the hotline in the morning and ask if they're still opening? I know it still wouldn't be guaranteed that it'd be open all day, of course, but at least we'd know it'd be open for a little while. My parents will drop us off and be in the area; we could always get our hands stamped and leave if it rains and then come back if it clears up. Idk if that would work out, though. Oh well. Time will tell.

Oh well anyone who doesn't have a season pass would be nuts to go in that weather. Don't waste your friends money.

Not worth the hour drive. I would only make the drive to get my pass processed and see the park again, but then I would leave pretty quickly and go to the Milwaukee casino for a little mindless fun

Weather.com says that at 10 am it will be 50% chance of rain and 50 degrees and then from 12 to 8 it says 30% Thunderstorms and 55 degrees

Sunday looks the worst. Not even 50 degrees. On a roller coaster that is painful.
