According to screamscape, AE also has some of that steel track on it as well.

Another reader has also sent in a picture of the American Eagle that they believe shows off one of these steel sections. Given the age of all these wooden coaster rumored to have been upgraded in their old age with some new steel track sections, this is starting to sound more like that time Grandpa went in for that hip replacement... and when

I really don't even notice the difference...If there is one.

The bottom of the main drop has had steel on it for years, It is used to replace the bottom 5 layers or so of the wood track. On top of the W-Beam is 2-3 layers of wood for the track. I'm surprised that they are just noticing it now...

Does it really matter? It's not like they put in Vekoma or B&M track instead of the classic wood style track.

As long as the experience is the same, I don't care.

Actually the expierience is quite different between wood vs. steel on Eagle, however since many of you are not old enough to remember, the steel makes is a much more enjoyable experience. Also the steel track is from about 1/4 the way down the first drop all the way until the trim brake at the beginning of the barrel. It's a Steel I beam with 2 wood laminates on top.
