^Is that why the American Eagle has "viewblockers"?

I've never been on dipper personally, but how far do those bars go. They look like they just move up and down, but they're so small! Are these trains/seats/legroom the size of AE/Viper? Or much smaller?

^They are buzz bars that move to a fixed position. With the train size, I found it to be more comfortable than the American Eagle trains.

^Why wouldnt you? It may not be thrilling, but its still a huge part of coaster history, and now adds to all of our parks history. This may make our park the leader in history in the six flags chain.
Top 5: 1) El Toro. 2) Maverick. 3) Millenium Force. 4) Diamondback. 5) X2.

Eagle's "viewblockers" are due to a clearance issue, mainly with the blue side. When it was running backwards you could see the wings on one side of the train were nearly double the size of the ones on the double.

I Don't know if anyone has posted this before, but it seems BBNP has been renamed.

quote from great America's Facebook.

"Little Dipper- This vintage family wooden roller coaster formerly of now defunct Kiddieland, will open in LOONEY TUNES National Park in Yukon Territory. The Little Dipper will join the Six Flags Great America family this spring as the park's 14th coaster. "

^If that's the case, that area is going back to its previous name.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

That's either a really terrible typo, or a name I dislike. Meh, I don't really care since I'm never in that area.

It's a decent name. I really don't see the Big Deal. Why anyone should freak out over a simple name change is beyond me.

Another article on Dipper that includes another picture of the cars and a picture of MagiQuest. The site for Dipper is now completely clear and they will start drilling for footers this week.

Hate to change the subject here, but have any of you read the comments on that Daily Herald article?

They can put up The Little Dipper, but it is not going to turn Great America into a kid friendly park. They pushed out families years ago in exchange for the punk factor. This is not going to win back families

Those are not punks, those are gang bangers!

I think they need to have a dress code.

" No pants on the ground."

" No hat turned sideways"

I think it is cool that they are installing the Little Dipper. That was my first roller coaster when I was 5.

Yes, all you pants down to your butt, hat turned sideway's gang bangers, members of these boards, YOUR the reason families are not coming out to the park. I told you so!!!

And the best one....

Great America has changed so much in the last 20 years. Overpriced tickets, not allowed to bring a picnic lunch and eat in the parking lot. If you go to the parking lot to eat or drink, security threatens to expell you from the park. This place is nothing but a rip off any way you look at it. It will most likely close in the next 5 years, no one can afford to go.

What in the world were they drinking to be threaten to be expelled from the park? I don't think you can sit there in the parking lot chugging down a six pack. It sounds like the last time some of these people visited the park was in the 90's.
If it walks like socialist, quacks like socialist, smells like a socialist, .... it's a socialist. Hope, and change we can believe in.

I sincerely hope you are being sarcastic.

Without Teens/ Young Adults the park would lose at least 30% of attendance!

^Sarcastic or not, good. They(being teens/young adults in general) are also the attendance that gets a SP and is used as a baby sitter by their parents every single day. Then they walk over to Burger King and eat lunch, providing the park no money there as well.

^^Beats me as the park even added picnic tables last year(I think it was last year) to the front parking lot. Even had security ask us once what we were eating and said it sounded good when they drove by on a dead spring day.

And gain about 30% more as too the park feeling a safer place.

Has a shooting ever occurred by way of a teenager?

What is SO UNSAFE about the park?

Tell me, has a teenager been involved in school shootings?

You have obviously never heard of columbine.

1: Idiots are everywhere not just SFGAm. Six Flags' has a lot of teens, Epcot has a lot of drunk people, Holiday World has a lot of rednecks.
2: Does anyone actually have anything useful/relevant to say?

Lets just say I am highly anticipating Little Dippers arrival to our lineup. As with many people on here/in the area, it was my first roller coaster & Im excited to ride it again as well as watch more children enjoy their first "big" ride. Just be happy... :)
