^ I got a bolt hit my head. I will most likely never ride blue again.

That's just the chaindog getting a grip on the lift hill chain. I believe they installed some metal plates to prevent this from happening both on Eagle and Viper w hile ago.

It still happens quite a bit, but it's normal. If the front car chain dog grabs the chain the front car will hop up and down by a few inches just from the force of the chain, and it's normal play in the upstops that's needed due to the nature of wood coasters.

Also getting hit by a bolt in the head would have either been fatal or required many stitches, even by the smallest nuts or washers on the ride, it was probably a bug or something else floating through the air.

Everything about riding eagle scares me now..

Both Sides do that. It's because the Chain is "yanking" on the train. By natural Physics, it causes the train to "pop-up"

Nope, it was a bolt, I have it. It happened just as we started to enter the barrel. Either some idiot threw the bolt back, or it flew off the ride. I don't know, but it hurt badly, and I still have a little mark, nothing major though.

I'm going to have to guess it was someone throwing it, just cause there is nothing really with bolts on it near or above head level. There is no airtime there to throw something off/up, and anything structural would fall straight down.

Then I don't hate American Eagle anymore. I hate it's riders! :/
I still prefer Red, as do many others.

What occupied the Splash Water Falls area before it was put in in the late 80's?

^ Z-Force was where Iron Wolf is. Nothing was removed for Splashwater Falls, Great America Raceway was reconfigured. The track was originally a figure-8 layout with 3 tracks that included an overpass near Dare Devil Dive's platform (which at that time had Big Top (Ricochet) on it).

Didn't know where to put this. I had a conversation, with whom I believe to be Daemon Nelson, the Ride Operations manager. He pointed out that the park has no idea what they are doing with V2. hehe
I also asked about Chang, and he basically ignored that. :P

I can deffinetly see V2 go to a park that needs something of hat nature, and having Chang go over there, with the subsequent removal of the flumes. They're quite old, anyhow.

^ You seriously think Dameon Nelson runs the Facebook page  Little secret, SFGAm like most parks has this department called Public Relations.

And considering that the replacement pipe was for the flumes, I don't see those going anywhere anytime soon. Plus both are still very popular on those hot summer days.

Yesssssss.

You need to think that many parks could benefit from V2 much more than us. The flumes are a way to block this idea. But seriously, if they don't know YET if they're going to FIX A RIDE, this chain needs to get it's ass in gear.

OH YEAH, this is Six Flags, so sorrry. Carry on.

They are fixing the holding brake on V2, and it is a quite popular ride. If they took out V2 you could add 10 minute wait to all the other coasters, and you'd be losing multiple rides including a coaster for a coaster. Personally I think V2 is the only thing in the park that comes within 20% of the thrill of raging bull, so taking out one of only two very high thrill coasters doesn't make much sense. Yes, its lower capacity... but so is any shuttle/single cycle type ride. If you think we should avoid any ride just because of a lower capacity, well... you must not care about the quality of rides as much as you should. After losing 2 coasters for downgrades in the last 8 years, now you want to give up a coaster AND other rides for one used coaster? That makes no sense to me!

HAHAHA    I nominate this for the stupidest posts of the year...stop jumping to horrible conclusions and get your facts straight. Why would V2 get removed because of a holding brake?? Oh and trust me, the last thing Dameon wants to do is post on Facebook about the park

You're 14 now right? Wait until you turn 18 and you look back at how embarrassing your posts are..

PS. Your lapbar didn't fly open on Eagle.

K, back into hiding I go.

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

Raging Bull and V2 are the two most popular coasters in the park. Then Superman and Batman. These rides will last the longest if they do ever need to come down.

I'm prety sure bull, v2, and batman would be rebuilt before they would be torn down (unless sfi had the desire to upgrade them to another ride). I could see sfi spending a few million to repair any of these rides.

Actually my lapbar opens up completely mid ride pretty often on Eagle. I would say something, but seeing as it's not a primary restraint and Eagle doesn't have any real forces to speak of, I never say anything.

I meant maintain, refinish, restore and repair. If batman needed major track overhauls, new cars, and a station overhaul, it would be worth it to many people even if it cost more than the ride did new in 92. Same can be said for bull, v2, or american eagle. Just an opinion....
