Just measured it out with google earth and it looks like it could be a good fit where the pepe le pews peak has been standing.

So where they put it now? Could it possibly still be up by opening day? $33,000 is a good deal. with this and Chang in 2011 we will have 2 more rides added to our collection.

As I keep thinking about this I keep picturing Little Dipper by American eagle where Splash water Falls died in 2007 and just get rid of go karts and GAR altogether.

They will definitley not be getting rid of GAR as they just bought Kiddielands cars. A lot of Bugs Bunny National Park was SBNO last year I would think that is where its going.

^ I was wondering if SFGAm was going to try to get most (if not all) of the cars from Kiddieland, as they are (from what I can tell) the exact same ones.

Man, this day keeps getting better and better! :)

Wha?!! Why is Sharpiro finally pampering our park with everything we want? This is so unfair!

Who said anything about Shapiro? I doubt corporate knew much about this until SFGAm Management told them they were buying it...

Wow, this is great news! I was hoping Great America would buy some rides from Kiddieland and for once I think this is a great move on their part!

The simple fact the ride is saved is amazing. The fact the park is trying to get it up by next year is amazing.

This is such a brilliant move by SFGAm. A fairly inexpensive purchase that will fit perfectly inside our park. These kiddie woodies are excellent first coasters for the kids that the parents like riding too. I'd agree that Bugs Bunny National Park is fairly large and could really use a re-spiff in the first place, so that'd be a great place for this coaster to go.

I'm so happy about this move. So smart.

Anything that involves spending money has to clear Shapiro first. He probably allocated a certain amount and sent them out to bid and hope for the best.

Getting Little Dipper and the gas cars is a big plus for SFGAm.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

This is Shapiro's first (in my opinion!) good selection for a "new" ride for the park.

And you can really thank him for this as he's the one who wanted it. He grew up in the area, going to the park, so it has some sentimantal value to him. That's most likely another reason why he wants it to stay in the Chicago land area.

Very good decision...should be quite a welcome addition.

Very good move on SFGAm part. Wonder how much effort it takes to move a wooden coaster?

From the picture on SFGAMWold it is not painted (base wood)? I though the Little Dipper was painted white.

Parts of it are painted white. The section in the picture hadn't been repainted after they replaced the wood.

Forgot to mention - as of now, the coaster is supposed to remain named "Little Dipper" after it moves to Gurnee.

^That would make the most sense since you know they are going to market the heck out this ride as the coaster that came from Kiddieland.

It is painted white but most of the paint has worn off. Hopefully they'll repaint it before it opens.
