You nor anyone else should be breaking park rules/policy, so it really should be a non issue. If everyone around here was posting how they broke the rules and whatnot, the park would get pretty pissed pretty fast, and they could easily make like hell for the board administrators, if they so desire As far as rumors go, if exact info comes out before an announcement is made, a lot of people can get in a lot of trouble for breach of confidentiality or worse.
You hit the nail perfectly.
Yeah, seriously though, If anyone on these boards know employees and they tell you things, please keep it to yourself. The last thing we need is people getting banned from this site. And Possibly, putting jobs at risk.

Isn't the park policy not to post personal opinions about the park as well goku? or has it changed in the year ive been gone?
by that logic why would anyone in their right mind ever admit they post on a site while working for a theme park? I am kinda sure there is a law in place(The Fourth Amendment) that says A company can't fire you for saying things on here because with out a warrant they can't get any of the personal information off the site. Because you are not disgracing the park, and or spreading false information.
We've had this discussion many times before, employees know what they can say and cant say so people in this topic shouldnt have their panties in a bunch about it now.
I don't understand the problem of following the rules set forth by the park and this site. If anyone doesn't like it, Usenet/Rec Roller-coaster is right around the corner. At least it makes it easier there for the park to track your IP, then only you are responsible for what you say.

4th Amendment pertains to search and seizure. You likely are thinking of the 1st amendment (Freedom of Speech, Press, etc...)
Those laws do not apply to a private company or even to this forum. Those are only laws that the government itself has to follow.
A private company can hire/fire whoever it wants and for whatever reason. SFGAm employees have in their contract for work (Which they must sign) sections pertaining to speaking about their work or to the press. Basically the section says : You are not authorized to tell anybody anything, only PR is. Break this rule and you can be terminated and/or sued if it warrants.

Every company has certain rules they have to follow in regards to hiring and firing employees, but I'm certain this isn't one of those. So they can fire employees if they find out they have released certain information without permission.

In an interview, Mark Shapiro said he has a 5 year plan for every park.
Which have absolutely nothing to do with each other. Call me odd, but the idea of comparing a communist regime (which normally involves the death of thousands) with that of a amusement park chain is beyond out there.

It's not exactly a cost issue, but more of a can they even operate safely and not break issue. Most of them probably depend on some form of hydraulics. Hydraulic fluid gets more viscous (thick) in cold weather and it's harder to pump. Considering some restraints are hydraulically locked, it would be very bad if these systems went down. Not to mention metal gets more brittle the colder it gets, and if it gets too cold, rides could break. I don't think that's too much of an issue though (except on the really cold days) since they should all be designed with a safety factor. Let's also remember that very few people outside of enthusiasts would even go to the park when it's cold outside, so it's not even worth it for the park to open.
Too bad they weren't open this weekend considering the weather. They didn't have the foresight to see that it would hit 70's the 2nd weekend of November when they wrote the season schedule some time in the end of 2008.
Although...I did do Milwaukee > South Dakota > Seattle > Vancouver > Calgary > Edmonton > Winnipeg > Minneapolis coaster trip for about $700 (9 days, 5,500 miles with gas being $3.50 /gal). So this would probably be 1/4 of that. And if you get a car full the gas price goes way down.
SFGA has been closed for over a week now and I already miss it! Im goin through withdrawals here. By far this was my greatest season going there. I rode every coaster they have. From Whizzer and Ragin Cajun to Raging Bull and Superman, it was great. I had so many funnel cakes. I went like 7-8 times this summer and for my 21st birthday. I actually won a prize this year playing the guitar hero game. The Papa Johns was great and I didnt know they serve beer. Threw up after riding Viper, Dark Knight and Superman all in 1 hour.
This was also my first year at Fright Fest. It was great although I wish there were more people in the park scaring everyone as I didnt get spooked. The water rides were amazing and I rode raging bull 3 times in one day! OH and this year I noticed that I didnt wait as long for most of the rides this year than previous years, usually raging bull is like and hour wait. This year i think i waited no longer than 45 minutes. I was very, very, very, satisfied with this years service. Lets see what its like next year when supposedly a new company is buying them out.
Mod Edit: Cleaned up your post. Considering you are 21 you should know how to type a sentence. Please use correct grammar, thank you.
/\ It wasnt a rumor in the first place. When Six Flags declared bankruptcy much of the public automatically assumed the parks were closing, ignoring what it says under the "Six Flags Declares Bankruptcy" headline (which was "operations of the theme parks will not be affected by the restructuring of the company's debt"). Its typical when news spreads by word of mouth for the story to change and people, like the poster above, believe anything they hear.
