I agree with theatergeek. If the stupid deja vu can have almost a 50 page thread...

I agree. There were only a few actors out this year and it felt like something was missing from the decor this year. I also feel like its not as scary anymore.

No I don't think it was because of last year, I think it was budget or something. I really have no idea but yeah they're not back and the pirates aren't either.

^Removing those characters probably has to do with saving money, and putting Trick or Treat characters instead of them.

Does anyone know if the strobe bulbs in the park are sold at Lowe's, Home Depot, or Menards? They are in this link, but I don't want to buy 8 of them. Just 1. The strobe bulbs are all over the park.
http://trinorthlighting.com/Store/index ... =7_135_142

Also, the lamps are green, red, blue, purple, and orange; and I would like to know where do they get that what I call projector paper in them at, and what's it called? How much does something like that cost too at a store.

^^^^^There is a Love at First Fright thread already. I don't care for long broad topics like official Fright Fest topic even though I'm posting in it because if you ask a question, people might not answer it because it's buried in a topic, and people are constantly adding stuff to this one huge thread. In one week, you might have to read 3 pages of sometimes stuff you careless about.

A show topic, a haunted houses topic, a scaracters topic, and a general topic would have been a better idea in my opinion.

Why don't they get rid of those not scary, un funny, totally stupid characters over by Superman and Rue le Dodge?

The thing they put in the lights to change the colo is called a gel. They are really cheap at any store such as home depot etc. Also, I believe they did cut a lot of characters this year such as there were no vampires, werewolves, or pirates this year. Yet, they only added the Seven Sins characters. Also, it seems like there are less characters overall but I think they were trying to go for quality rather than quantity. I think Necropolis still has a lot of characters and they are still the best ones that they have had for a few years now.

All:

Wanted to pass along some information about events going on this weekend at the park.

This information comes from the following web page

http://www.sixflags.com/greatAmerica/ev ... vents.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

First, we have an "End of the Season Blow-Out Sale", which will be taking place Friday, October 30 thru Sunday, November 1, 2009

It’s the last weekend of Fright Fest and now you can save more than ever. Select merchandise will be on sale up to 50% off. Plus, every skill game is discounted. Now’s your chance to load up on your favorite Six Flags gear or win fabulous prizes at a fraction of the cost. Hurry, this offer is valid for this weekend only.

Then, on Sunday, November 1 the park is again doing the "Smashing Pumpkins Festival"

On Nov. 1 bring in a pumpkin and receive a discounted admission ticket for $24.99, a savings of $30 off the main gate ticket price. All participants will also have the option to attend a pumpkin smashing celebration at 3 p.m. in Hometown Square. Careful pumpkin smashers who manage to hit the bull’s eye on our target will receive a free ride exit pass, which will allow them to skip the line at their favorite ride.

Sadly, I've got to say this is the worst fright fest in my recent memory. The major cutback on actors and even cutback on themeing (at least that's how it appears to me) has really helped make this a Fright Fest to forget.

^ Agreed, but the weird part was some areas looked better. Such as the Mardi Gras and Bugs Bunny National Park areas looked miles better theme wise then last years.

Randomly, does anyone know when this park stopped allowing single day ticket upgrades to season passes?

^It's probably since they read these boards, and saw people scamming the park. The park tries to be nice to people, and make it more fair for those people that truly are coming in the park, and than deciding, hey let's get a season pass, but than what do you expect when people abuse the system?

Here's an idea for the park I guess. How about everyone has to sign their receipt, and having a valid id to match the name? So, you buy a ticket at the window, and than they make you sign your receipt. Than, if someone throws it away, than someone else just can't use it, and get cheaper season passes.

Fright Fest good or bad than previous years? I guess I would say worse because the Predator statue is covered up, and the Aliens are in a stupid location in my opinion. I haven't seen the skeleton band in Orleans Place compared to last year, and previous years. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mi0SC3xGRbo

Has anyone seen the Alien statue (not Predator), but the park used to have an actual Alien statue from the movie. I'm not talking about the stupid Pumpkinhead creature in Terror Twister either. Also, has anyone seen the talking head that's in a box? The box is black, and it used to be in the train station (County Fair one), and than it moved to Rue Le Morgue one year, but I don't know where it is. That I would love to get a video of. I miss that thing.

The Alien statue could be in the Studio 13 Haunted House, but I haven't been in there. Is he in there? There used to be a women's head on Fiddler's Flung, and I think that head went to Rue Le Morgue, because I don't remember a head on that black thing before. The guy from American Eagle went to Fiddler's Flung (Tony). I don't know how long he's been missing on that ride (American Eagle). He was right after the first 2 drops.

The alien that your talking about may have been the "Swamp Thing" at the end of the Whizzer.

This is kind of an odd question but what is that burlap-like netting that they put over everything during fright fest?

^Oh, thanks so much for that! Now, it's too late, but I'll look for it next year. That makes sense because I don't go on that ride.

The Swamp Thing guy is the Predator guy, not Alien statue.
http://media.photobucket.com/image/Pred ... edator.jpg

The Alien statue was in the order of this (the picture), but bigger. I used to see that on the train the one year (might have been in a cage), and than I thought they think they moved him into a store near the Flash Passes place, but than I have no idea where he went after that.
