I know there is a topic but the board is slow and I am just curious before I make the long drive.
Do you think it will be worth it? Was there one last year and was it busy? I get the feeling that a Friday in september not opened to the public and only in the evening cannot be that busy.
Do you think season passes will be $65, or will we get a small discount?
haha, i believed it for a second. sad that the idea isn't that farfetch'd.
I dont know, i mean i read the trip report from someone saying Friday wasn't crowded a week ago or whatever. I mean i remember doing a coasters after dark last year and it was walk on central.
Id imagine this would be the same on a Friday in Sept, at a specific time in the evening.

A couple hundred (You are really hilarious!)
28% of all attendance comes from season pass holders - our attendance was around 2.6 million I think (estimated)
To me, this event is really about discounts. If you really want something you seen at a store, or think you might want to buy something, you should go. If you really want pictures for cheaper, you should go. To me, there are better days to go just in case it is packed this Friday night. There are going to be other Fridays later on in the season that might be less packed than it is this Friday. Go for the discounts, and I would say to not go because you think it's going to be not packed at all. There are a lot of season pass holders out there, and they are going to come if they can get the cheaper stuff.

Friend of mine called the park and this is open to all Six Flags Pass Holders, not just SFGAm passes. Also if just SFGAm alone had 30,000 passholders, I'd be shocked at that low number.

The Problem with Season Passholder night is that people come right at the 7pm cut off for reentry or what not, just to go to ERT! Its supposed to be an event for Season Passholders to stay LATE and ride exclusively, Not a separate event to show up to later! I am amazed they do not have it so that, in order to participate, you must enter with your season pass scanned before NOON on that day! Ya, some will enter, get a hand stamp right away and show back up at 7 or when ever the cut off is, but my guess is a majority would just stay the entire day!
^^ and ^ The park is closed to the public during the event Friday. Also, last Friday, there was no time limit on re-entry as I got my hand stamped at 8 PM.
There's no way to tell until you get there. Just go and enjoy the night, even if it is busy the park is open late and you can enjoy all the coasters and rides in the dark without worrying about the park closing in 1 hour...like during the summer where it doesn't get dark until 9.
^Rides at night seem faster than during the day, and I feel the reason is because when there are dark objects outside, the ride appear faster. For a ride like Whizzer for instance, the trees come out of nowhere, but during the day they might be easier to spot. The same is true for a car. It always seems faster at night than during the day. It also seems faster going home than going there. That could be because of less traffic, but still. When you can't see a lot going through an amusement park ride, you think you are going faster.
Look at Space Mountain. This is a ride at Magic Kingdom that only goes like 26 miles per hour, but yet it seems much, much faster than that. I would contest the whole thing about rides getting warmed up in the day, and than at night they "run faster".
Why do rides get shut down for cold temperatures because they might valley? It's because they are really going slower. Do I like night rides? Yes, I do but to me it's about the colder wind, and it seems faster than it is actually going faster.

Coasters after Dark is only for rollercoasters, and the season pass night will have all rides open but I don't think that there will be an impact on the lines from the other flat rides
I'm at the park now in the Cyber Cafe during the SP holder night and its not crowded at all. All of the rides that are open are walk ons. I've been here since 5 and its about 6:45 and its still about the same. So, if anyone is still coming that is able to read this before they leave will know.
What rides weren't open, and were they giving anymore discounts on season passes than $64.99? Called up they said, it's going to be the same price.

^^ Eagle Blue side was running early in the night (we left around 8.) However the lift was beyond slow on the ride, as in taking 1-2 minutes to go up the entire lift.
funny someone pukes on Fiddler's Fling (an old favorite) Someone puked on East River Crawler. It was not crowded @ all. They could have been opened a little longer though, maybe even during july or august. It was truly a great time I logged 5 rides on the demon in a row.
