I don't know what it's going to look like, but now everything is off the sign. Really smart, Six Flags. A park that is in debt, and people think it's closing, and you mess around with the sign. Did they have to do it now? What was wrong with that sign anyway? What a waste of money. Instead of painting rust on V2 fences, new roof on Dark Knight, rust on Sky Trek Tower, and so on, they are messing with a perfectly good sign.
My challenge to anyone is how is not the cleanest park in the nation. Everything I said above, but what about the dust on Chubasco's teapot, dust in Dark Knights line right above the people that's right after the preshow room, or Sky Trek Towers air vents, left over tape in the cabin, and so on?
Also in the parking lot, they are spending money on M&Ms and Snickers signs. Yes, that's what I said, and they are taking down some of the Bugs Bunny signs. These are the signs up in the air. How much is too far for this company with advertising. I guess nothing is too much anymore.
"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"
That makes me kinda upset. I really wish all these advertisements would go. Especially now that you say they are even REPLACING the six flags stuff with advertisements. That just takes away from the atmosphere that is six flags!
Have a take and don't suck, it's the Jim Rome Show!
You guys are complaining about them updating the logo? Wow I would assume the reason they are plastering "Six Flags" on the towers and updating the logo is because people think they are closing and they want to get the name more recingnized so people think they arent going anywhere.
Also in the parking lot, they are spending money on M&Ms and Snickers signs
They arent spending money on those, theyre advertisements
Why would you plaster the name Six Flags if that's the reason they are staying? People hear the big corporate Six Flags is in trouble.
The point is that they are wasting money on this junk when they should do other improvements in the park. Next time you visit the park, and go on V2, look at the yellow rusty fences. If you look at the Carousel lights, they look so dim it's not even funny. They should replace them instead of stuff like Triple Play lights, and the Orbit when they did that. They have those LED lights on (early at night-time) and you can't even see them until it gets really dark, but they are still on before that time. What a waste of electricity. Having lights on that you can't even see. With the other bulbs, you can see even if it's a little dark.
The energy efficient (junk new technology) looks like they are going out (2 of them) in the Batman line. They are so bright that when you have a regular bulb and it gets so bright, you know it's going to be going out pretty soon.

WOW. EXACTLY! I gotta say, I love the way you put things sometimes. lol

Are you talking about the new sign around the six American flags in the front of the park that says "Welcome" or something like that? It has really big white letters...
No, the sign on Grand Avenue. It has no letters on it anymore. I don't know what they are doing with it.

Take a picture! Ask anyone in the park though the people I asked about Vu or any stuff like that they looked at me like I was crazy and couldn't understand.
If it's the sign at the Grand Ave. entrance, it will have Six Flags Great America on it. They might possibly attach an LCD display like the one on the tollway to advertise.
Stop complain about the advertisement signs. Six Flags isn't paying a dime for those signs to go up. Heck, SF didn't even pay one dime for the new digital sign on the tollway. That was all funded by the companies that advertise under it.
If you want SF to stay afloat, you better start getting used to the way they have to generate more revenue.
You can thank the old regime (Burke and co.) for the reason why Shapiro has to resort to this in-your-face advertising.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
I saw them finish up the new sign today, looks fine. They added a Hurricane Harbor logo to it.
As for advertising, the only advertising I think they have overdone is Iron Wolf's station. Which is now practically enclosed with Miracle Whip banners.
^ Try walking under the Demon. There are 17 ads in that little space alone. Also, screw the ad on Space Shuttle America. It looks tacky and just awful. You also get ads in the Dark Knight pre-show as well that make no seance at all.
Before the latest round of ads, I was up to a count of 125. Now you have ads just trying to find your car. This is getting beyond out of hand. To quote my fiancee on the ads "this is making me physically sick."
I didn't see any ads in the pre-show of Dark Knight today. Nobody even goes by Space Shuttle America anymore, so I don't know how that can make anyone "physically sick".
Maybe you should quit focusing so much on the ads and just have fun on the rides.

Or maybe I could walk 5 feet without seeing an ad. There is no reason to plaster the entire park with ads. Apparently atmosphere means nothing to you, but it means a lot to me.
Also in the Dark Knight pre-show, you get the wonderful "Buy a season pass" ad under the movie.
