CAD My theory

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

I actually think CAD might not be as crowded as past years because of the current state of the economy, I believe Season pass sales have dropped, so there would be less people at CAD. But predicting crowds is impossible, but that's my theory. What do you guys think about the pass sales and how different CAD will be.
God bless NIU

Honestly CAD lines are just as long as any other time the rides are open. They need to actually check peoples passes at the ride entrance and stop non passers from jumping rails to ride. Not that hard of a concept.

However, if you go to CAD with the idea that its just extra time to ride and not the idea that the line will be short, you will be pleased.

CAD time is more crowded than other times, and that's because some people might come just for CAD time, and not only that they shut down so many of the rides, so people go elsewhere.

They shut down most likely:

1. Triple Play 2. Condor 3. Rue Le Dodge 4. Train 5. Antique Car 6. Ricochet 7. Hometown Fun Machine 8. Trailblazer 9. Jester's Wild Ride 10. Sky Trek Tower 11. Roaring Rapids (for obvious reasons) 12. Yankee Clipper (for obvious reasons) 13. River Rocker 14. Chubasco 15. Logger's Run (for obvious reasons) 16. Probably Buccaneer Battle (for obvious reasons) 17. East River Crawler 18-38. Some 20 attractions in the waterpark 39. Merry-Go-Round 40. The Orbit 41. No Pictorium 42. No Wiggle's Show 43. No Grand Music Hall Show and so on, and so on

Maybe, Giant Drop, King Chaos, and Revolution the Ride is open with the roller coasters.

I understand it's called Coasters After Dark, but that's why it seems so packed. It's because all the other stuff is closed!!

When I went, it kind of felt like the middle of the day going on the roller coasters as in lines, but it was dark outside. However, I'm talking June lines, and not July, or August lines. I never went in July or August though for CAD at night. I wouldn't expect to get that many rides in during those extra hours. It's not like reride central.

I was also going to add that the economy doesn't seem to be playing a factor in attendance, yet anyways.

We just got back from CoasterMania and the turnout for that was bigger than I've ever seen at a CM! And we were all spending diner o.

Not that my gf and I are rich, we just work hard and save up all off-season for our trips.

I'll find other ways to cut expenses during this recession, possibly depression, but cutting park trips isn't going to be one them. Everyone needs vacation, especially in times like these.

With the price of season passes being only about $20 from the price of general admission, I'd say sales are going up. So many more people from around my neighborhood (despite being an hour, sometimes more from the park) have been purchasing season passes. Three other households on my block alone own them now; god knows how many people have them in the entire neighborhood.

People can't take those big trips in this economy, so they're gonna head up to Keylime Cove with their season passes for the weekend, and make a mini-trip out of it. A lot of people had Keylime wristbands on today. It's definitely going to be a big thing around Chicago this summer.

I wonder if there is going to be CAD. It says in the books, but I don't see it on the website, and before I thought they put it on there. :?

Yes, Cad is going to happen.
Typical this first one is less crowded then other two dates but may be busy because of the weather and a weekend.

Raging Bull first then go from there.
