2009 Season Passes on sale, $69.99

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby w00dland on May 8th, 2009, 9:45 am
Yeah...I havn't gotten a season pass for a couple years because its just not worth how expensive it is for how many times I'd actually use it. Being 5 hours away from the park will do that.

But this year I'm heading down to St. Louis for a trip after my semester is over, and since a pass is only 45 bucks there I figured I'd go for it and use it at Great America for a day or two as well, so I actually get the visit the park again this year.

Part of me is excited...the other part knows that all the ads, no Deja Vu, and no park music is going to be a bummer.

Thanks for that sucks though I will have my brother standing outside the gates while I have to go all the way to the Pass Processing Center (quickly I might add) to get my booklet and quickly return back to get him in. We would have to be there early the early morning crowds are crazy.

Hard plastic card is a Season Pass.As long you renew it online you should be fine. Just bring your paperwork just in case.

I'm new at this. It will be our children's first time to SFGA - Gurnee, IL. We are going the week of June 22nd.

The kids each have a free pass from school. It is only to the theme park and not to the waterpark.

We want to go 2 weekdays or more before June 26th. I don't know that we'll make the trip again this season. We want to do the waterpark and the theme park. IT will be a mini vacation for us over there. We will be staying at a hilton property somewhere so that we can use our hotel points and stay for free.

My hubby and I are planning to buy season passes. How many coupons does the booklet have for bringing a friend free 'any weekday(M-F) through June 26'? It sounds like there is only one coupon per booklet.

So, our plan is to go to the theme park and use the kids free tickets and our season passes. We'll get our pic taken and get our value book that day.

The next day we will use the 2(1 from each of us) BAFF coupons at the water park for the kids and use our season passes. This should give us the 2 days at the parks for $69 x 2 plus tax and 15 x 2 parking.

Does this sound like it will work? Or is there a cheaper better way? Of course if there are more BAFF coupons we will save the kids free tickets for later.

Thanks in advance all your input.

^If the waterpark is open on the day you use the free passes for your kids, you can use the waterpark too. They are both included with admission.

Your plan will work on Season passes and free one ticket in each booklet.
Tomorrow (sunday June 7th) is last day to get your season passes at 69.99. It will go up the on monday by 5-10$ each.
Order online for your passes and parking. Add in 5$ change print at home vouchers for your total.
Best deal in booklet is family meal deal 10$ off coupon. Meal is 39.99$ and get 2 Souvenir cups with refills all day free.
good luck & have fun!

^Why even bother purchasing online? You pay the same at the gate and not have to shell out another 5 bucks for printing at home on your own printer and paper. I am referring to season passes, not one-day admissions.

A Jewel over here has a sign saying something about $34.99. I think that is the price for buying online though right? I walked by too fast to read all the way.

Forgive if repost, but I searched and did not find this intel.
Some (possibly) updated info via the Season Pass Hotline this afternoon: any person can upgrade their admission ticket to a season pass for $55 at the Processing Center in the park. This includes discounted or even free tickets... quoting: "once you're in the park, you can pay $55 and get a pass."

My plan: buy pass today 6/7 at Jewel $70, go to park and get processed & receive Value Book. Return with my wife and use BAFF ticket for her, then get her pass for $55. Return after June 15 to use my son's free admission Read to Succeed ticket and my wife's BAFF ticket for my 2nd son: get them both passes for $55. Total cost for 4 passes=$235.
Anyone see a flaw in this plan that would kill it? Or a better way?

I thought the $69.99 price was extended for the season passes?
That's what I saw while I was at SFMM's site....maybe it's just for SFMM and not for SFGAm, or is the extension on the price for the whole SF chain?

BTW, I went to Jewel in Gurnee on Sunday (supposed last day to get the $70 price) to buy my pass, and was told they were "out of the vouchers" that they gave to you once purchased. Manager said the price was actually extended (for Jewel purchase anyway) until mid-July. ???

The kids each have a free pass from school. It is only to the theme park and not to the waterpark.

Whatever you do, do not wait until just before these expire to use them. The weekend they expire (better known as "RTS weekend") are some of the most crowded days of the season.

That won't work, they flag your ticket. Actually, the BAFF tickets are just the coupon from the book, so they know you got it that way and they won't accept it for the season pass upgrade. Best way to try is to bring your wife to the park on a BAFF day and try to find a ticket stub on the ground of some shlub who did pay to enter the park that day and use it to get the upgrade.

Most people who wanted to buy them probably already did. $5 more is not a huge increase. They have been $69.99 for like 8 months?
