Hi. New here. My daughter and I are now season passholders and plan on visiting many times this summer. We have been twice so far and today is her last day of school. Yippee!!
Anyways, just wondering if anyone had any food/drink recommendations, reviews, deals or tips. I am a member of a large Disney message board and the info I get there about those things is awesome. It saves me money and the hassle of getting something that isn't good. A great tip I use at that theme park and now at SFGAm is to ask for a cup of ice water from the vendors when you are thirsty instead of carrying bottled water and also stashing a few of those on the go drink mix pouches in your pocket for a fast and almost free drink.
I would love to know if the sport souvenier bottles or popcorn/cotton candy buckets are worth it. Are they reusable if you bring them back another day? Also, it would be nice to have menus, pricing, and locations for the different food/drink vendors in the park. The best area restaurants and also the best picnic in the parking lot recipes are welcome!!! Thanks.
I used to get the souvenier bottles. They are good and you get .99 cent refills on them. But the only problem is now with the lockers at each ride, you can't take anything with you in the lines. I eat at Panda Express, 2 kinds of chicken, rice and noodles for 9 somethin, when I would go if you show your season pass you get a dollar off. The Panda Express is right across from Great American Raceway which is right next to Demon. I used to eat at Angelos which is near Batman, they have all you can eat pasta for 7.99, I haven't been there in a couple years so I don't know if that has changed or not. Hope this has helped.
Best deal in the park I would say is Angelo's. They really do pile it as high as you like, and even if they dont give you that choice, it's still a full plate of pasta. A REALLY fully plate of pasta. You can also add on a salad for 99 cents. They also have Papa Jon's Pizza and Cheesey Bread there as well.
You are much better off leaving the park and eating at a nearby rest. They have McDonalds/Burger KIng/Jimmy Johns etc nearby which will give you better food at a better price. As noted earlier the souvenir soda bottle used to be a great day, but now that you have to pay a buck to store it in a locker each time time you ride one of the coasters, the deal isnt that good at all. Your better off just getting free water at all the stands that sell food/soda.

Yeah, I always leave the park and go to the Burger King across the street if I have access to a car. Last time I was at the park was with a group from school, and I didn't feel like walking that far. Spent nearly $20 on a burger, fries and onion rings, and a drink from Johnny Rockets. At least it was a good burger.
Add me to the list of people that say leave the park to eat. The cost of my fiancee and me to eat at Burgar King is less then the cost of a corndog, fries and a drink.
There are so many places outside the park. You have faster places like Mcdonald's, Taco Bell, Subway, Dairy Queen (just the ice cream part isn't that far away), Dunkin Donuts, Culvers (I hate that place.), Arby's (It's a couple miles down in the next town.), Boston Market, KFC, Long John Silvers, Burger King, and Wendy's. You also have sit-down restaurants like Rainforest Cafe (in mall), Olive Garden, Pizza Hut, Outback Steakhouse, Uno's, Red Lobster, Baker's Square, Max & Erma's, TGI Fridays, Steak & Shake, IHOP, Cracker Barreel, Applebee's I think, and the Corral something (buffet). I think Ruby Tuesday's is in the mall too.

if u wanna fill youre stomach inside the park without going over $20 try the crazybuffet lo by southwest territory they got desserts, salads etc you dont have to wait for youre food unless you order something and you can get a small cup that you can refill with drink inside the place for less than $5 and sometimes they even got some of the characters entertaining inside the place nicely themed too you can push the switch to make a big noise in the place they got a small jail and a piano where you can take pictures with youre family and kids or you can just drive or walk to the Golden coral buffet a couple of blocks down.
My favorite place to sit down and eat is right behind claimjumpers in Yukon. You get a great direct view of V2 and the flumes and hardly anybody ever goes back there.

When visiting the park I like to pack a cooler filled with sandwiches, chips, and drinks and take a break in the car. I find this a good time to take a rest and cool off from the hot sun. Food wise in the park I stick to the Dipping Dots, choros, and funnel cakes. I find the normal food in the park a joke. Its way over priced, long wait, and usually cold.
This thread is very helpful. Can you bring in a lunch cooler to either SFGA or HH? Is there a locker that could store a small cooler? How much are the lockers? Or isn't it worth it? Should we just leave it in the car and take a trip to the parking lot to eat? I may opt for going off park to - I hope I don't have to pay for parking on reentry do I?
Nope, you cannot bring coolers into the park. Just leave one in your car, and when you are ready to eat, go out and tailgate as some like to call it. Heck, throw a few lawn chairs in your car so you can sit behind your vehicle and relax while you eat.
When you pay to park, you recieve a slip showing that you paid, if you leave the lot and re-enter, just show the slip at the tollbooth for free re-entry.

You aren't allowed to, but I am sure you can get away with it if you bury the snacks at the bottom of the backpack. Just don't bring in 6 packs of soda or huge bags of chips and you should be fine.
I say put them at the bottom because security will tell you to open the backpack and they do a quick search with a couple sticks. And make sure you don't put anything in the backpack that will set off the metal detectors. If that happens, they will make you dump everything out of the backpack to check.

I want to know why i have paid between $1.07 & 1.25 for a .99 soda refill. I asked a booth vendor he said different booth owners charge different prices. All refills are .99 how can they charge more tax. I'm calling today ill try to post a response.
Food and drinks of any kind arent allowed to be brought into the park, so dont bring them unless you want to risk having to go put them back in your car or throw them away. Last time I was at SFMM my roomate brought food in his bag with him and had no idea it was against the rules. As we were walking out a spiel played in the admissions area that said "Food, drinks, and snacks of any kind are not allowed to be brought in the park, so please dont even try to sneak them in" and he was like "wow I brought in granola bars and a sandwich and the security person saw it and didnt say anything." So moral of the story, if you want to try you might get a lazy security person, but thats up to you .
