It kind of looks like the targets aren't even the whole point of the ride, but rather the spectactors or the other people in the boats.
If I feel like being squirt by a gun, I'll go on Roaring Rapids as they do that, and that's not much fun in my opinion. I enjoy the rapids part of that ride more. I'll give this ride a chance, and if I enjoy it, I enjoy it. If I don't like, I just won't go on it, and enjoy Roaring Rapids (even though most of the good boats are trashed) along with Hurricane Harbor.

I am sick of hearing the whiners rip on this ride because it took the spot of Deja-Vu or that it isn't another high thrill ride.
BB looks great with the theming and this type of ride appeals to families.
Some of you and you know who you are, can look at this, as just people shooting super-soakers at eachother. I know when I go by Roaring Rapids, and plop 25 cents a pop, to nail someone with water, I am enjoying it. Plenty of other people do to. Guess what? This ride allows you to do the same thing for free, whether you are riding or spectacting with a cannon in hand. This ride is going to be a winner.
Either get to enjoy the ride, or stop complaining about it, because the complaining has been going on since DV left that footprint.
MOVE ON!!!!!
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
It is a winner. You get soaked on this ride. You have cannons on boats and you can shoot targets, which splash water back at you. Then people on other boats can get you wet from how close you are to each boat, which I thought was neat. And people from the path get you wet. That is like 3 times the wet in 1! Addition to what I said, you can also get some people in line wet. (The fast your crank, farther it goes)

Yes, even before you are fully in the water (because their is still water in the pump from when you get back to the station.) So you gotta look out for that!
Just got back from the park. I got there at noon and there were a grand total of 3 people on the ride due to the weather. Let me say this upfront: you WILL get soaked. There is simply no way around it. I did not get hit by a single item on the ride itself, but got drenched from the people with the crank cannons. Capacity on this ride will be outstanding as the boats move slow enough to take in the ride, but fast enough to be a people eater. The station is full of pirate quotes, which is a nice touch. They even used quotes from Pirates of the Caribbean, which is always nice to have a little of Disney near home. On the exit of the ride, there is a cannon or two as well to nail people, however, you can get soaked from the bucket that drops water.
The people dryer was going at 5 bucks a cycle with a limit of 4 people.
Wish I could have taken pictures, but it was starting to sprinkle and did not want to get the camera wet.
In the end, the ride is a great touch for the park. It looks great and draws people to it. My only concern is days like today where the ride was empty due to weather. However, it seems like the Haystack dryer will take care of that problem.
I was at the park today as well. Got there around 11, and left around 2.
I will echo the other comments about the ride. It is a GREAT addition to the park. The pirate theme of the ride is totally cool. The park did an excellent job on it. The station is great, and I also saw the pirate quotes on the walls in the station.
Everyone loved coming up and using the water guns and shooting at the few people who were riding. They even shot at the empty boats. But, you could tell by the reaction of the guests in the park that when the weather gets warmer, and the park is busy, this is going to be the attraction to be on. Everyone was having a good time over there getting people wet.
And yes, you will get SOAKED on the ride, by other boats, the people on the shore, as well as the water targets on the ride. I took one ride, and was really wet when I got off.
I did take some pictures. If I get the chance later tonight I'll post a few.
Too bad but, again, wouldn't BB make more sense as a HH addition or right by SSA and Go-Karts? Whatever the future holds for SFGAm will surely be big things from now on as I am sure they are done adding kiddie rides and areas for the time being.

Problem with putting the ride there is where do you expand HH to? The ride maybe could have been done like Pilgrim's Plunge, but would still feel like a regular park water ride. I'm not sure how many people would to be in their bathing suits and cranking a cannon on dry land.
^I wouldn't expect or want the Looney Toons area to be replaced by a woodie. However, I would like to see one shoe-horned in where Splash Water Falls was. I know the go-kart rumored movement to that area, but I am just saying.
Another option that I am thinking of , is to decrease the size of the picnic grove and install one there. That picnic grove is far to big compared to other parks picnic areas.

I don't see why people in bathing suits wouldn't crank a cannon on dry land. I don't get what you mean by where do you expand Hurricane Harbor to. If you go in Hurricane Harbor area, and you can see a door on the right (that's mostly not open), and you will see the Go-Karts through that door (if it is open). It's very close to the waterpark even though it's in the beginning part of the waterpark.
It's very easy to expand the waterpark. You take out the Go-Karts, you move the entrance to Sky Trek Tower yet again (to main walkway), and you get rid of Space Shuttle America. That's a lot of room. It's not gigantic, but it's big enough for more attractions. You always can expand to the parking lot, but how much into the parking lot have they expanded. The parking lot is running out of room. On a day that parking lot was completely crowded, I expected 3 hour lines, but I didn't get that. The waterpark, Viper, and Space Shuttle America have taking up so much parking space that even when the parking lot is really full, I haven't experienced a 3 hour line yet.

Problem is, if you put in Buccaneer Battler where the go carts are, you are left with only the Space Shuttle America area. Once you put in an entrance, you are left with the room for maybe a slide or so.
With the parking lot, I agree there should not expand into the parking lot. I've seen the lot packed on just Fright fest, I can only imagine it on a Saturday in July.
