I am thinking of going to Great America tomorrow, but I saw on the Six Flags schedule that the Music in the Parks event will be going on. Do you think the event will cause the park to be pretty crowded, or do you think there still will be a lot of the shorter lines that you can expect earlier in the season?
Yes it would be much busier then april weekends- A couple of points- -Other events going on at same time. Scouts Day and Coasters for a Cause also Dance Fest on the 3rd. - This is normal weekend that the park is open for season. - Weather is good like going to be partly cloudy to sunny and in the 60's.
A couple of hints to have a great day- Get there early 10am opening have plan -going left or going right After 11am county Fair section will be open. Most of the groups will have lunch in picnic grove. Enjoy the music in the park at various stages set up around the park. Flash Pass is set-up ready to go also Prices for this season is $27 first person and $12 add a person
I'll be this weekend take photos and enjoying what I can!
The thing is that this music in the parks is for multiple weeks. That means that not everyone is going to be there on a single day. Maybe, it will be a little more crowded, but according to other people they are now running multiple trains on coasters, and another 610 pph is open with V2.
Even when it was cheerleader day, I don't remember the lines being that horrible. This isn't a Natashia Bedengfield day, or Usher.

It only says the choir are the people they have no more spaces for.

Last weekend at SF STL was there music in the park deals. They had nearly 15k people there, but the lines were never long on anything other then the rapids ride. I found that not hitting the rides in order (skipping Evel Knievel and going to MR. Freeze then Tony Hawk, the Boss and so on) basically killed any lines. i saw later in the day all those rides had large lines. However, if you want to ride Superman and then Dark Knight, do so first. Lines were awful on both rides (well over 45 minute wait for both) 2 weeks ago.
^I think though that because SFGAm has it for 4 weeks, that means it's spread out rather than just one big clump of people. People were saying on a couple days that it was more crowded than the previous weeks. Think about this. Some of the weekends had horrible Sundays (like 3 hours and close, or not open), and people can only go one day on a weekend (Saturday) instead of two. When you have bad weather, people aren't going to chance it, and are going to go on the nicer day. So, 2 good weekend days is better than 1.
