So what do you think will be the next Six Flags Great America roller coaster to get the boot for a new one?
I think that Iron Wolf will. My 1st choice would be Whizzer, but we all know what happened when they wanted to get rid of that roller coaster. Iron Wolf is a fairly old roller coaster in the park and has enough room for a new medium sized roller coaster to be built. It should be removed next because the ride is very shaky & uncomfortable.
I don't know what roller coaster is next to be demolished but I really think we could do without Iron Wolf and Whizzer. There not really worth anything except a headache and sore back. But i dont care either way. I just love to go for Ragin Bull and American Eagle! ROLL ON!!!

Well, first they will remove Raging Bull and replace it with a Thomas Town.
Then they will remove Viper and expand the waterpark with another childrens waterplay area like Skull Mountain.
Then the Eagle will be torn down and replaced with "Nothing: The Ride".
After that, Batman: The Ride gets yanked and replaced with a heavily themed Gotham style picnic area.
Not sure what Shapiro's plans are after that. Stay tuned. Don't worry though. Wiggles World, Camp Cartoon, and the Looney Tunes kids areas are safe for your enjoyment.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

Haha, hilarious! They are going for way too many kids rides/areas like Batman: The Dark Knight, Wiggles World, Buccaneer Battle, etc. I understand diversity, but we already have Ragin' Cajun for Batman: The Dark Knight, tons of other small childrens' areas for Wiggles World, & A WHOLE FUDGIN' WATER PARK FOR BUCCANEER BATTLE!

They won't remove it b/c it's way way way too new. But yea, that would be nice.

Agreed, period. I couldn't agree more, & it was a waste of money to repaint Iron Wolf in the 1st place. I don't know why they aren't considering removing it & selling it to another park. It's in a stage where it's a great time to get rid of it & sell it to another park b/c it's not in horrible shape, so people won't think they are buying a piece of junk. I think it would be a great ride for another park, but Six Flags Great America needs to get rid of it b/c it's clear that the Six Flags Great America visitors aren't a huge fan of it.
Please get rid of this roller coaster & sell it Six Flags Great America/Shapiro, PLEASE

Wow, I wonder if all of that is set on stone? So is Six Flags slowly being transformed into a park focused more on smaller children? This is interesting......

By the looks of Six Flags, I think they would rather retheme a roller coaster than buy a new one. Iron Wolf or Demon could get rethemed, and maybe they would buy different trains for either of them. It's either retheming, used or wooden coaster to me all of a sudden. I don't see a Dive Machine coming to the park, but rather a Evil Kinevil, or a watercoaster.

Breaking News just off the presses!!!
Shapiro has decided to bring SFGAm back to somewhat of the Marriott era. Along with all the other changes mentioned above, effective in 2010, Superman Ultimate Flight will be removed and replaced by,,, get this, the pre-Shockwave era. That's right, once Superman is gone, the original parking lot that graced that area will make its triumphant return.

With Space Shuttle America gone, and a little more parking spaces gone, we do.

I For the Most Part Agree. I wish Iron Wolf would get a "Bizarro/ X2 Transformation". All it needs is new paint and B&M Trains. I want Demon to get new trains either the LapBar only or the "Carolina Cobra" trains.
Also thank you for not wanting a Dive Machine. They look like the most pointless B&M Coaster I've Ever Seen. A Euro Fighter could do pretty much the same for 9 Million Dollars. How about putting a Evel Knieval where the Southwest Territory Amphitheater is?
If a ride at SFGAm gets the X2 treatment I doubt it would be Iron Wolf as it would still be rough & unpopular even with the newer B&M trains. Look at SFNE and SFMM, their best 2 rides got it (though X really needed it).

I think waterpark expansion will be in that area by SSA. Now with the area where SWF was removed, yes, they could construct a compact woodie. If they have to re-route the Great America Raceway, so be it. They did the same thing when Evel Kneivel was built.
Just do a google search of the Kemah Boardwalk Bullet. It can be done.

I think Whizzer should get a rehab/bizzro treatment. It would cost a lot of money but they could find a way to upgrade what makes the ride expensive and difficult to operate. And I dont mean add fire effects, soundtrack, and a weird color scheme. But find a company willing to engineer a new train and replace old mechanics with new technology. May take more then $10,000,000 but I think it would be worth it.
If you think about what the company is going for which is (family friendly)...Whizzer is basically the most popular ride in the park.
Iron Wolf is fine how it is. Every park need an old non-smooth coaster with no line...every park has one. Iron Wolf serves for a lot of other purposes in the park too. It is a great ride.
I can't see SFGAM do that because they don't believe it's a good idea to spend such a huge amount of money on an effort like that...sure, they can fix it, but it costs enough just for that. A re-model would be ridiculous!
"I've been told that some part of every wish will be heard but lately I lost sight of the truth in those words."
I think the company is more worried about paying back their debt then getting a new roller coaster.
But... I've heard that they are wanting to enclose Raging Bull to make it a dark ride. And theme it to unicorns and rename it to Flying Unicorn "Revenge of the Bull"...
Serious note: why add stuff when people are still willing to come to the park? Plus, at 69.99 for a season pass, they are really going to add a ~12M ride?
for a while there was some internal talk of Bull getting the makeover treatment, though nothing ever came of it. Really no other ride at SFGAm is all that well suited for it.

Rehab, yes. Bizarro/X2 style, NO. Those trains are what make it Whizzer. Doing anything even remotely like Bizarro or X2 would completely destroy everything that makes Whizzer great.
Not a roller coaster, but I think the park should work on getting new bumper cars, and maybe even a new theme. They are stalling, or go really slow unless you find some that are actually good. (Maybe, 1/4 of them aren't slow.) Doomsday's Destruction bumper cars would be a cool idea. Half of the cars painted red, and blue while the others are painted black and green. Put a mural on the back wall, strobes go off during the ride on Doomsday (Pitch black at certain times - lights come back on), Superman is in a pose fighting with Doomsday. Lois Lane statue looking worried that Superman would die.
I was thinking of retheming Condor to It's a Bird, No it's a plane... with the Daily Planet ball & sign on top of instead of the Condor along with a Superman statue in the middle of the ride going up (in flying position) the ride when it's going, and the tower painted black with painted windows. Also have a light shining on Superman that is moves up along with the ride, and some fog. Only have red, and blue lights on the arms on It's a Bird, No it's a plane... , and have yellow lights on the tower. The Flying music would play that currently sometimes plays on Superman Ultimate Flight.
