I recently emailed SFGAm asking if they had any coaster events similar to West Coast Bash at Six Flags Magic Mountain. They responded by saying...
Six Flags Great America has had special events similar to the West Coast Bash through our group sales department. Here is a link to our Web site that can provide you the details of group outings. You would need to call the number provided to discuss exclusive ride time for a group event. http://www.sixflags.com/greatAmerica/groups/index.aspx

Since the only way to get ERT is by getting a large group together, would anyone be interested? I know planning for an event will take more effort than this, but it's a start. It doesn't have to be a huge crowd, maybe 25 people or so.

So I guess what i'm trying to say is, would you want some kind of coaster event to happen at Six Flags Great America?

I think that the first thing we need to do is make sure we have some kind of support for an event like this. Once we get enough interest in it, then we can start talking dates and times to do it.

Magic Mountain is a park that really needs good word of mouth so they really are going to try hard to give those enthusiasts better perks. I'm not saying that they wouldn't give ERT on a couple rides though, but I doubt they would give enthusiasts almost all the roller coasters like they did at Magic Mountain.

I think you need at least a 100 people for them to do something special like ERT though. My question is would you have to pay extra money for this if you have a season pass already?

^I have also wondered about a fee even if you have a season pass seeing as I do have a season pass as well. If they're is any, I would hope that those with a season pass could get a discount. Don't forget that West Coast Bash started out as a couple hours of ERT before the park opened, and now it's one of the biggest and best enthusiast events around.

Generally most parks offer ERT for something in the range of around $500-$700 per ride per hour. Meal is separate and would be on a standard group plan. Get 30-50 people and the price is pretty cheap per person. Season Pass discounts generally would be negotiated with the park.

I'd be interested I guess if someone got something going with the park and the price per person was less than say $20. I'd probably be willing to help out with this also if need be. I know of a couple of forums similar to this one that have arranged events of this type in the past at various parks, RRC's Okboulderfest at Lake Compounce and also a Silverwood event every couple years are good examples.

One hint if anyone actually goes through with this is to charge alittle more for non members of this forum as of a certain date, then that bankrolls part of everyone elses fees. If anyone wants more info how to set up an event, I can post more.

I logged in just to vote on that. I would love some ERT but it depends on what ride, whats included blah blah blah... If it was like 20 bucks for a marathon of raging bull then that'd be hilariously awesome.

This is cool thing to do :D I'm in for it :!:
Maybe this can happen an early-ERT 4 coasters at least,
Continental Breakfast @ the new Cybercafe,
then tours of new BB, lunch B-B-Q style in the picnic grove,
Group meeting in the afternoon the with the GM and Q&A session
add a Savager-hunt in their to.

Now WCB for $30 is a great Price Point!
Compare to others prices for event are higher and depending what in get.
Groups like this starting at 100 ppl then up.

That my 2 cents :)
Party all Night, Sleep all DAY!!!

WCB was actually $23 if you bought tickets from SFMM...since it was a park event.

But yeah I got S:TE right when they started the ERT (credit) :D

...fun day :D

I would be very interested in a special event at SFGAM. I have been to some of the ACE events at SFGAM and they have been ok, but nowhere near as good as the events held at SFMM in scope of ERT and all the other goodies that went along with it. I would be more tham willing to pay the same amount of money that the people paid who went to the West Coast bash as long as we get treatment that is at least somewhat similiar in ERT in the amount of ride time and the amount of rides being open for it.

Im not aware of any event held at SFGAM that was anywhere near as good as the last 2 years West Coast Bash events at SFMM.

With the prices offered to attendee's of the West Coast Bash its obvious that park helped subsidize the event, but sadly SFGAM takes the enthusiast community for granted and does little to nothing at all for us. And the park is in need of good PR. as is any business in the current economic situation.

But in all honesty our coaster collection is minimal compared to SFMM. Also why pay $40 for an event when you can just go on one of the MANY dead days and do your own little marathons on the rides. Theres also not as much of a community for SFGAm then SFMM.

So unless the event is under $20 and has at least 2 hours of ERT, at least 1 full meal and snacks, and has a pointless presentation for idiots to ask pointless question then its not worth it.

Now Winter Coaster Solace is an example of a great event at a great park :D

October 3rd is a regional ACE event at SFGAm which will include ERT and food (in some form) and unlike last year's event it will also have a season pass discount. West Coast Bash at Six Flags Magic Mountain is not a park event, it is a park buyout. Anybody can rent a park with enough $ and then the individual can sell as many tickets as they want at whatever price they want...I would be interested in an event perhaps if the price was right...

Info on the ACE event: http://www.aceonline.org/Events/details.aspx?event=359
I'm irreverent and stuff...

ACE tends to charge completely absurd and unreasonable non member prices though. If we did something like this, that would be mitigated. Also recently a lot of stuff has happened in ACE which makes me not want to give them one thin dime.

That would be good to just have this private event. Opening day was like ERT because my coasters count was 36. (Rode Viper 14 times and Bull 8 ) But we need enough people to buy tickets if it is just a SFGAM thing.
