Great America Idol was a joke, an obscene joke. They didn't have every song in the book available? What a pity.
Here we are, starting a fresh new season, and I was curious if there was any different about the backgrould music in the sections of the park. I'm hoping they returned the Marriott music, but that's probably just wishful thinking.
R.I.P. Splashwater Falls and Space Shuttle America. Deja Vu, enjoy Idaho.
Hear ye, hear ye: "After 45 years, Six Flags has stopped smoking."
You can go up there whenever? A few times I saw the drapes covering it when it was still very early in the day do they close it when nobody does it for a while?

The current music is crap. The stuff that was on in 2006 was nothing compared to this garbage; it's all a random mix of late 90s and early-mid 2000s pop. Also, every hour on the hour they now play the Crazy Frog version of "I like to Move it Move it", supposedly as a way to remind the employees to keep the park clean.
Guess what? I found out early! Good thing they had a video of opening day on Youtube so I can monitor the soundtracks, I shook my head the whole time. Macarena in Carousel Plaza? Where is the Wurlitzer Organ music???? That's what made Carousel Plaza Carousel Plaza. And as for the other sections: no theme. No theme! It's all ruined by corporate POP musik. Southwest used to give guests a feel of the Old West with it's relaxing cowboy soundtrack; not today.
And boy, I do hope they got rid of Great America Idol. That so-called attraction was just plain awful!

The music is getting better; they actually played 2 songs I like, Vertigo and Beautiful Day by U2. I just hate the "I like to Move it Move It." I and all my friends agree, the only visual for this song are all the dancing animals from Madagascar.
Im pretty sure all SF parks play pop music now. It was really dissapointing going to SFNE's entrance area last year and hearing pop music when they used to have awesome themed music, really was one of my favorite things about the park . All the other ones ive been to recently (SFSTL, SFMM, SFGADV) play crappy pop music also. Quality stuff walking by Ninja in pretty well themed Samurai Summit and hearing Brittany Spears.
SFGAm's music in general has always been pretty crappy though, the Marriott soundtrack in Orleans Place and County Fair (1976-2005) was awful. The way they did it in 2006 was pretty nice with Southwest keeping its themed music and 60's music like the Beetles playing in HTS, and Depesche Mode in line for DejaVu .
Britney not Brittany...anyway they are obviously trying to appeal to a younger demographic but they need to know when enough is enough and THEME is one element Six Flags will probably always struggle with.

The Orleans marriott music was primarily jazz. I don't see what's wrong with that when it's ORLEANS Place.
