Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Galvan on October 22nd, 2003, 10:28 pm
Okay guys, i need some help and quick! This Saturday, im going to Fright Fest with this girl i really like. :) Anyway, im what you'd call a "bigger type person" I have really broad Shoulders which makes me ridding on V2 nearly impossible, in fact i have been on it exactly once, and that was with a friend who pressed down on the OTSR alot, i really dont want to ask my date to that. Do you have any ideas or suggestions to what i could do to make it on this ride? I need Suggestions by Saturday!!!PLEASE NO FAT JOKES

The only things I can think of is exhale, then pull it down, or avoid the ride. You could also put the restraint down first, and then get in the seat. I don't think it's very safe that way, though.

I say if your legs are long enough use the car in front of you to give you more leverage to pull down your restraint. Other than that I'm out of ideas!

If I were you I wouldn't even worry about getting on V2, as it won't be open on Saturday.

Well, if it was going to be open (which it won't), make sure you are wearing some thin clothing under your jacket.Even if its cold, suck it up, and take the coat off before boarding. But since it won't be open, you can use this tidbit for next year during cold temps.

Okay, since my post was deleted (I was seeking answers, not rumors. I just wanted to learn something), I'll post it in here. Why does Verticle Velocity not going to be running this weekend? Is it because of temperature? I know it wasn't open early on in the season either.(I don't see why posts get deleted for no reason. Most topics just get locked with some sort of explination).

Um, yeah. Well..........how to phrase this without giving out sensitive park info.......V2 had another mechanical problem that ended up crashing the circuit it's on. That happened last Friday. All the rides on that circuit lost power. Its happend before. Why it keeps happening, I don't know.

:roll:GreatAmerica, When are you going to realize that your not some big shot that you think you are. Okay we all know you work for Great America okay thats fricken great, but No one cares. I really hate to burst your little bubble and crush your dreams and asparations of being a glorified carnival worker but seriously you need to take up a new hobby.Harsh enough? Well it should be im tired of this know it all wannabe thinking he's god's gift to the world because he works at Great America. And another thing, if what you said was so sensitive to the park, Then why the hell open your mouth in the first place?

greatamerica2003:When I was at the park on Columbus Day, I noticed how V2s circuit was a little different towards the beginning of the afternoon but back to normal but late afternoon. Is that been happening lately?

I think you're confused SFGAMan... I think by 'circuit' he meant the actual circuit Vertical Velocity is on. (Circuit as in power supply.) I'm guessing certain rides are in a little chain basically, where one circuit powers a few different rides.

It shouldn't matter why it's closed, all you guys need to know is that it's closed and will not open. And if you have trouble getting on rides and you like coasters, lose some weight.Oh, and since you are the famous Galvin I wouldn't count on going on Vu either (although it will be open).

I think there are about 3-4 different circuits in the park that the rides are on. V2 usually blows out itself, Iron Wolf, CCN and LTNP.Other park features like lighting and foods/mech buildings aren't on a ride circuit.

First off, lose the attitude.Second, Deja-Vu can accomodate large people better than V2. 300/lbs. people have gotten on DV. The seats are very roomy.Third, what makes you think because you can't get on a coaster, you automatically need to lose weight. People have different body proportions that limit them. It doesn't always involve a weight issue, so stop being an insensitive jackass.

Papas, I thought I read on ACN that you hated these forums. If so why are you still posting here?Since you are the famous Brad. While Galvan is losing weight (as you said above), you should be out gaining a life instead of spending it everyday at SFGAm stalking employees.Feel free to write that down in your notebook.

You shouldn't have to worry about me ripping on employees when it's people on your forums that they have to worry about.

Why would they have to worry about anybody on these forums? Afterall, they aren't the ones stalking the employees just to get a picture of them.I've met you a few times at the park, and even talked with you for a few seconds and I thought everything was all cool. Then I read on ACN you talking crap about my site, saying you would never post here because we closed one of your Deja Vu topics. Instead of asking me why the topic was deleted, you decided to go off and rant about my site. I honestly don't mind if you say on other sites that you hate this site and don't want to post here again, but if your going to say it then don't come back. Nobody here is going to miss you if you don't post here.End of story, back to the topic. If you would like to talk to me, P.M. me.

Well all forums are full of disagreements, I don't agree about every topic that goes on here either. Disagreements are the things that usually create the best discussions. Once again, back on topic. PM me if you have anymore questions/comments.

For me being smaller than most people here, as i'm only 14 years old, V2's seats are very easy and comfortable. They are for sure one of my favorite roller coaster seats.By the way, I was wondering what "OTSR" means.
