Since we all know the day will come when a ride gets removed from Great America again, which ride/coaster/area do you think is going next? Oh, and all those southern California people are happy with Vu getting a new paint job. Didn't we get one too not long before it was announced SFGAm was losing its beloved GIB? Anyway, my theory is Bugs Bunny or Iron Wolf. 2 areas/rides dwindling in popularity for years and you need room for future additions.
#1 Bugs Bunny #2 Iron Wolf #3 Whizzer #4 Demon #5 V2 (Waaaay down the line)
Fortunately, for us, it looks like the park has no desire for getting ride of family-friendly rides unless it absolutely warrants through space and eventual popularity.
2010: Big addition to HH (5 year anniversary) or a new coaster right by it(think small)

pretty close to that yes.

I think building this is simpler than TDK so it should be ready to go by then as long as it isn't freezing and how the weather can be here, you can never be sure.

I think construction of the ride is not all that far from being done, now that the pool is completed according to their site, all they really have to do is drop the trough in, unless it's also concrete which really shouldn't take that long. If the trough is steel, I bet they could install all of it within a few days. The big thing now is building the station which should be pretty straight forward, part that will take the longest is probably putting the styrofoam on the outside of it and spraying on the concrete. I'm going to guess come opening day, the ride will be for the most part done except maybe for the station exterior. Even the mechanical/electrical systems on the ride should be really simple and I bet most of the pipework for the electrical side of things is buried in the slab that's already poured.
I don't think the weather will really affect them much at all. It's not like they are going to be in there with cranes lifting stuff high up in the air that can be set back due to weather.
