The time at DejaVu when someone was trying to get away from security and jumped off the side of the station onto the rocks, and there was a security guard standing there. EPIC FAIL.
The time a maintenence guy left a ladder up in DejaVu's station and forgot it was there and cycled the ride. The seat in row 1B exit side was tied-off for awhile after that. EPIC FAIL.
Someone pulled out their camera from under their shirt after the cycle had started on Giant Drop. A big honkin (and very expensive looking camera) comes down and smashes into pieces all over the ground right in front of me. EPIC FAIL.
When HH was closed for a weekend for water testing after someone got sick and it was 80+ degrees out (and other times its closed when its hot out) and people riding Sky Trek Tower hearing "Did you know our waterpark is free with your admission today?" EPIC FAIL.
That sucks hopefully it doesn't happen this season as I hope to finally make my HH debut.
I only went to the park three times this year, and sad to say this, but my favorite moment of 2008 was LAFF. I really thought the cast was great this year, especially witchie.
I wasn't there enough last year, and the days that we were there, we didn't stay the whole day. There just isn't much to think about for me.
Best memory of the year at SFGAM would be riding Raging Bull/BTR with my youngest daughter for her first time, introducing her too B & M greatness!!! And generally spending excellant quality time at the park with my family and several trips me and my older daughter made to the park by ourselves!!
My future sister-in-law had her only trip closing day. We got on just about everything. It was her first time on Superman, Whizzer and Fright Fest. She complained about her arms hurting on SUF but then again she only went as a favor as coasters aren't really her thing. Some people complain too much. Don't like rides like V2 or Bull? Don't go with people you know will want to go on them. It kills the moment when people complain or refuse to go. Especially if you are in a small group. My brother goes on everything. Those types of people I like. Try it once. What do you got to lose? I used to be deathly afraid of rides like Bull and even Eagle. If I thought the way she does I would never get on anything and realize how badly I love my high speed thrill rides.
For me it was deffinatly the first ride on raging bull of the year in the front row. Since the saturday before i beleive the weather was bad and didnt run raging bull for the day and i went the sunday and got first ride front row
Oh, I have one! The final night of 08, went to Bull, boyfriend said that he did not want to wait and it was not worth the wait. I forced him to stay cause I wanted to. We got second to last train in back row, and all three trains got re-rides! It was sweet as hell!
Oh yeah, and that same night, when my boyfriend scared the crap out of some scared girls in Necropolis... LOL!! So funny. One girl said it was mean, another girl said it was funny... lol. We were right behind them the entire time and the entire time they were afraid of him, lol.
I think just The Dark Knight roller coaster being at the park was a great thing. This year, I don't expect to enjoy the new ride that much.
For bad memories: The biggest one is Hurricane Harbor. They wouldn't let more people go in the wavepool even though it was less than half full. They announce the waterpark is nearing capacity so get in there now, but the attendance I was reading on the electronic counter was nowhere near capacity. Some lifeguards were just mean at the waterpark. The amusement park management is perfect, but not the waterpark. They need some help bad. I've seen the waterpark more empty in my opinion this year than last, and I think it has to do with poor management. The regular park I seen quite the same as last year.
