Yeah, whatever. I have been going to Great America for like 13 years but always considered Whizzer to be a slow ride. Boy, I can't wait to ride it next season. In like 120 days people! Where is the countdown on the main page? Usually, everyone goes on the water rides. Even the ones who hate high speed thrill rides.
The only time I went this season Yankee Clipper was open. The best memory I got was waiting in line for Viper and a skunk was wandering around the queue. People were freaking out so much I thought a tidal wave was coming. Also my friend riding Giant Drop for the first time ever was pretty exciting/deafening.
Sucked how early they closed Clipper last season. It better be open regularly June/July/August. Anyway, it was also my first season pass in 08 and my first flash pass usage. Highlight, again, for a while will be DDD. If you start saving now it is so worth it believe me the adrenaline is nothing you will ever experience in your life. How about worst memories anyone?

That is unless you do this: http://skycoaster.cc/. Or go skydiving, bungee jumping, or do any other of the many things more excieting than SFGAm's skycoaster .
OMG like the average person is more likely going to go on skycoaster at Six Flags Great America while they are already there than do any of those. My point is: Less expensive than a Gold Flash Pass, very easy to maneuver in, awesome staff and thrilling views of the park (and SWF...bleh). I would go even if it cost $50. $35 I believe for one person is pocket change compared to the parking pass fees, flash passes and general day admission.
/\ $50? The novelty on Skycoasters wear off after like 2 rides. By far the most excieting ride ive ever had on Daredevil Dive was being winched up and down over and over again with the cable jerking all over the place not knowing if I was going to live (viper1988 will attest to that ). Id much rather pay $50 to ride El Toro all day than $50 to ride any skycoaster once .
It was on the left side (the one thats rarely used) and we were being winched up & down to move the cable into place since there was a gap in the spool.
If anyone wants to ride a SkyCoaster cheap, I've been to 2 separate events now at Indiana Beach where one free Skycoaster ride was included. Whenever an event is announced there, should check the flyer, that's always fun.
Also, though I'm not sure they do this anymore, but Kings Island Skycoaster was $10 a rider regardless how many fliers there were, so for 1, 2 or 3 people it was $10, 20 or 30.
Really anything more than $10 isn't worth it for a Sky Coaster after your first ride, 300 footer excluded but I dont think I've ever paid to ride that in the 5 or so times I've flown, during IAAPA, though once I think I paid half price, but that was after a half dozen free rides on the ejection seat at Old Town, so I was in no place to complain
Back to the topic at hand, after 2 pretty bad visits to the park I abstained from the park for most of the season til fright fest, but I'd say the best memory was the first freak show of Fright Fest when Professor Chumley went to stick the wire though his arm (as only he can) and as soon as he pulled it out, he had a really good gusher, was leaking blood all over the stage. That would have to be the best part of 2008 @ SFGAm for me.
Favorite Wood Coasters: The Voyage, Ravine Flyer II, Thunderhead, Balder Favorite Steel: Voltron Nevera, Steel Vengeance, Expedition GeForce, Olympia Looping Parks visited: 232, Coasters Ridden: Steel: 894, Wood: 179, Total: 1073

Back on topic, I dont have too many great memories of 2008, but heres a few of my favorite "epic fail" memories that just crossed my mind for some reason.
The time at DejaVu when someone was trying to get away from security and jumped off the side of the station onto the rocks, and there was a security guard standing there. EPIC FAIL.
The time a maintenence guy left a ladder up in DejaVu's station and forgot it was there and cycled the ride. The seat in row 1B exit side was tied-off for awhile after that. EPIC FAIL.
Someone pulled out their camera from under their shirt after the cycle had started on Giant Drop. A big honkin (and very expensive looking camera) comes down and smashes into pieces all over the ground right in front of me. EPIC FAIL.
When HH was closed for a weekend for water testing after someone got sick and it was 80+ degrees out (and other times its closed when its hot out) and people riding Sky Trek Tower hearing "Did you know our waterpark is free with your admission today?" EPIC FAIL.
