Floorless coasters arent anything special, theres some great ones but most are very meh. If anything it would probably get the same reception SUF got from enthusiasts and everyone will be wanting a new coaster again.
^I think the design of the train means nothing to me. It's not unique in that sense. I think it would cheaper to get a sitdown coaster instead of it having no floor. However, I like floorless coasters for their elements. They have huge loops, cobra rolls, a unique element like a Dive Loop, and than your basic other elements. I think they are great rides.
I think enthusiasts would like floorless coasters because they have many inversions to them. I think the reason enthusiasts don't care for Superman is because they are very worried about the thrill of the ride, and to some of them, the pretzel loop is the only thrill they get on that ride. On top of it, it's at the very beginning of the ride.
It's never going to happen, but I wish we would get Goliath at SFOG for RB, or better yet Superman: Ride of Steel (Only been on SFA version). Those rides give tons more air than RB.

Seriously, B&M Dive Machine. Probably the best idea. Not that expensive, small, easily marketed, only vertical drop on a full circuit roller coaster near us. Also, it will most likely feature an immelman or 2, adding the large scaled loops that Six Flags needs. I know they can't even afford a wet bag of shit right now, but in the near future, a different type of roller coaster is needed.
The only problem is with a floorless/sit-down, it can go either way. People might see how big it is, and see all of the loops, and be like WOAH COOL. Or it can totally suck with no g-forces and just become another roller coaster in the park.
Either way, Six Flags needs to sell some more parks, or it will all keep going downhill from here. Six Flags should get ride of: Six Flags Magic Mountain (too much money put into it to keep up in the competition/hurts the company) Six Flags St. Louis (doesn't seem too attached to the chain/competition) Six Flags America (seriously? it's still there? Totally ignored, can't get life into it with no money) Six Flags Discovery Kingdom (California has too much competition in the theme park field, and Six Flags can't deal with competition right now)
Overall, every other park has slim to no competition. They should focus more on those parks, like SFKK which is dying, and SFM which is probably a big and nice park in Mexico. Also, they should focus on SFGAm. It's the only big theme park for a long ways, and could bring in loads of money for the company if given the right amount of money and time. If they sell those parks, I am sure they would be SOOO much closer to getting out of debt. The only thing though is that they are probably thinking in the future they might need SFMM to get a high profit. But I would imagine SFMM would go for like 400 or 500 million, and everything else together would add up to more than 1 billion. THAT'S HALF THE DEBT!
The only competition for SFDK is good ole Great America, and Six Flags is kicking the crap out of it. There's no competition for SFSt.L, and is more popular than SFKK. Great America, Great Adventure, Over Georgia, Over Texas, St. Louis. Those should be the five parks they build off of. Maybe Discovery Kingdom, maybe Mexico. The rest of them, in my mind, are expendable.
I have no idea why I'm talking about this in this thread, but it was here, so there are my thoughts. Yay.
Unless they made one around the length of Batman: Dark Knight at SFNE (Now BTR), it wouldn't be anything awesome.
Griffon WAS a really cool ride experience, but it gets really old after awhile, and that's coming from someone who rode it only four times.
I don't really see any coasters that could really fit the park right now. All I can really see the park adding would be a prototype of some sorts. Everything on the market right now I just can't see in our park. I'd take a REALLY upscale flat ride over a floorless.
^LOL if SFGAm installed one of those kind of rides I would laugh so hard because it would totally be an upcharge...I'd love to see a GCI go there, or hell the footprint is small enough so just put a 3rd wild mouse lol! But a B&M with a splash down near the splash battle would be awesome, especially a dive machine, it could fit a relatively small area and they offer an excellent ride experience. Also I'm sure that something like Steel Hawg would work in that area...that's purely wishful thinking however...

If you want a Dive Machine so bad, please just ride one to see if it's what you expect or not. If you have ridden one, than that's your opinion that you think they are great. In my opinion for SFMM, they spend too much money on that park when they don't need to. Same goes for our park, and many others.
The only parks I think they should spend the money are parks that have bad or rough rides, or just not enough rides. Yet, some of the parks in which they don't have enough rides, are they even worth keeping? In my opinion, those are parks like Great Escape (They have our Rolling Thunder, but it doesn't look like they have a lot.), SFKK, SFNE, SFFT, and even SFStL (I like SFStL, but I don't care for what they are adding to the park. Why add a smaller wooden coaster when you have 2 already?
Why add a more kiddie roller coaster when they don't have enough (in my opinion) adult roller coasters already. They don't have that many flats. I think that Ninja is bad along with the Boss.) I think Six Flags America should go because it's poorly run. I think it doesn't have enough rides either, but it does have great rides in my opinion like Batwing, Alpine Bobs, Joker's Jinx, Superman, Wild One, and I enjoyed one Invertigo even though that one wasn't open.
Six Flags Mexico I don't agree with keeping just because it's really cheap to get in that park. However, the American parks are getting in on the cheap admissions too. The regular admission price means nothing anymore at Six Flags because they have been heavily discounting admissions for the 2008 season, and the 2007 season.

^In addition to what you were saying, I know the Dive Machine was carried on too long, but if something new and different is added to the park to attract guests, that would be a good idea in my mind.
Also, I honestly think we have enough roller coasters, just, there needs to be more things to do besides go on roller coasters in the park. Most of the flat rides suck, and there needs to be better ones. It would reduce crowds in the midway, and give guests new things to do. All Six Flags parks have become so reliable on roller coasters, that it sucked away all their money, and whoever makes the ideas for six flags should be shot. A great theatre was removed for a lame roller coasters which sucked more money away, when they could have just put on a new show there. I like the feeling of the 70s in the park, but there are ways to make it look good, and not like crap, and most areas look like crap. I strongly think a nice flat should replace SWF.
A great theater? Theater Royale was an almost desert zone area with nothing but Looney Tunes ever single day. It in no way was a loss to lose it. I agree Dark Knight is disappointing and got stale quick but I think we can all agree every park, even ours, needs an indoor ride for those bad weather days and when you don't want to be waiting in line on a 90+ degree day. We need more flats but the ones we do have are not that bad. Seriously, I think there is nothing wrong with Revolution, Whirligig, King Chaos, and technically Dare Devil Dive. We should have a few shops/food places taken down and replaced with decent flat rides. Yes, I agree we could use more flats than coasters. If we get 1-3 flats within the next 2-3 years instead of a major thrill ride I will be happy. 12 coasters is not bad. Yeah, only about 5 are actually special but it is nice for the little guys to have Spacely's Sprocket Rockets and American Eagle is a park icon. I have said it before but I will say it again: We need Six Flags Great America to fix what is wrong on the inside and then worry about what to add. Get new trains and paint for Iron Wolf. Make it stand out more. I seriously need to look very closely or I miss it every time I am at the park.
Giant Drop could use a more vibrant paint color. Such a great addition but the paint makes it look really old and dated. Some parts of Eagle scare the crap out of me. Especially walking up the stairs you see how chippy a lot of that paint is. Not to mention the scenery is over-grown and poorly landscaped. Think of a way to cover up sore spots like Splashwater Falls area. Build a new flat there. I think we can all agree the park needs more employees that are not high school or college dependent so that great rides like Yankee Clipper and a lot of the Hurricane Harbor attractions don't close down due to staffing. Stop it for ONE season with the price increases. Not only does Pappa John's give you the most mediocre pizza slice ever, they charge for one slice what my local pizza place gives you for an almost medium pizza. The souvenir cups are cool but I think less people will start buying when they got up to $14.99 or $17.99 in the coming years. Also, how having GREAT AMERICA rides on the souvenir cups? I don;t even know which rides are on those I tell ya! Is it too much to ask?
Forget a new thrill ride. Due some of these suggestions/pleads so that I look forward to going more than once or twice a season.

Dude have you been to TGE? Have you read what Shapiro said about TGE? Their only going to spend money on parks that make money which is why parks like SFMM, SFGAv, SFGAm and SFOG get the biggest capital investments because it helps them make more money. Why would they dump a couple million into a big ride for SFKK/SFA/SFDK ect... if they don't know if they'll make it back within 2-3 seasons?

I totally agree. And I didn't know that Theatre Royale sucked.
Six Flags has lots of potential, but most little things make it horrible. Food, prices, etc. YES, I agree Iron Wolf should be re-done. Not to the point of X2, and what Medusa is getting, but new paint, trains, and stuff to make it new again. It is an amazing ride, it's just too rough right now. And BAM, there ya go, new ride.
Why can't we get a make-over like X2 or Medusa you say? We have one of the tops parks in the chain and haven't gotten a real coaster make-over since...never?
1. in my opinion Dive Machines are boring. If they do install one, which I really hope they don't, I'll probably go on it once an then forget about it.
2. SFDK is a perfectly nice little park that fits well in San Francisco, and is generally well kept. Not to mention Six Flags just bought it from a city, a little vote of confidence from the people who actually see the numbers that you all are estimating.
3. IF anything we need MORE retail space. I look at our Retail compared to other parks and then it becomes clear why per cap spending is still an issue. I mean honestly, I go into heroes and Legends all the time because itthey are at exits of major rides. I go into Flags and Carousel Plaza Gifts because they are kind of our flagship shops, and I go into attitudes because I find that t-Shirts displayed outside amusing. But I NEVER go into Totally Tweety, Bugs Bunny and Co, Frenchy's, Bayou Blowout, or Cartoon Cabin. We need to expand our retail offering...and if that includes more Disney and Hannah Montana Merch then so be it.
I'm sorry what was I talking about?
Why do we fall, Master Bruce?
So we can learn to pick ourselves up.
^I would prefer they squeeze a GCI woodie in the spot where SWF was. They can easily re-route GAR like they did with the car ride at SFSTl when they put in Evel Knievel.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

If parks make money people are going to come back over and over again anyway. Great America barely has any competition except Indiana Beach. What are they so scared of by putting in rides constantly? The biggest attendance spikes were when Raging Bull, and Hurricane Harbor were introduced though. So, that's 2 out of 9 years. Those parks (SFMM, SFGAdv, SFGam & SFOG) once weren't the biggest and best parks of the chain until they added capital into them. SFGAm had only 3 roller coasters at one time!
This year you might see an attendance spike (not because of Buccaneer Battle), but because now the deal is Buy one, Get One Free until July 10th. Last year, it was like $35, but now it's $30 for one person.

Evel Kneivel is a great coaster! I really think that our park could use another woodie. Or another launch. But a GCI would be on my top spot. I would never want GAR to leave.
I agree with a GCI but get rid of the Great American Raceway. At the very least, do something to give it personality. Driving around an area of a former ride, looking at half of the cars just sitting is awful.
I really think that people like the Halloween theming for the antique cars, but last year they didn't have any. Doesn't that tell you something? Put a story to the antique car ride so it's not just looking at Splash Water Falls which is gone. Get some plastic statues, and make some props. Have speakers around the track, and when a car goes by that's triggered by a sensor, you get to hear a part of the story. Is it that expensive to get plastic pieces (I'm thinking like how the Dark Knight Batman is - that type of plastic), speakers, and some scenery??
