What is the best thrill ride that was ever at SFGAm?also tw

I rode the Z Force, Tidal Wave, & Shock Wave. I wish we still had the Tidal Wave. I loved the fact that it had no shoulder restraints. It allowed you to put your hands completely up and was a great ride. I also wish I had been able to ride the Shock Wave one last time. Although it was getting very rough at the end, I still enjoyed it. The haybaler is my favorite removed flat ride. The Z Force was a good ride, but was not there long enough. I think it was part of the ride swap program.

Well I didn't ride Zforce or Haybayler because I think ZForce was already gone because I was probably just born, I didn't ride Tidal Wave because I started going to the park after it was gone, as with Rolling Thunder, Haybayler I think I may have been at the park while it was there...I started going to the park in 98 I think it was if I remember correctly. But my favorite thrill ride would have to be Shockwave because I liked it even though it gave major headaches. Also I liked Trailblazer because when it rained it was a nice ride to be on because it had a cover.

I never got to ride Powerdive, I remember seeing it and being scared, so I never rode it.


Oh and referring to what someone said about AE's brakes failing it was that the Lift stopped and it did not have Anti-rollbacks and it went down the lift and back to the station hitting the front of the train, i think there were only minor problems with guests (other then having them pi$$ed off). And I think this happened on the Blue side.

Dude, they weren't stupid to not have anti rollbacks. The only incident referring anti rollbacks was the edge incident. The computer stopped the car in the elevator shaft, the anti rollbacks were not enough and the car fell down.

To the topic at hand, I vaguely remember feeling as though I was going to fall out of the car and die on HayBayler. I rode Power Dive once and was amused by it.

I was at the park the day the girl died on Raging Bull. I was sitting in the parking lot eating lunch with my friends when I noticed Raging Bull wasn't running. We were all quite disappointed, but the ride re-opened later that day and that was the last ride we rode before we left. Didn't find out about it until the next day.

I also remember seeing a news report about one of the trains on American Eagle disconnecting in the middle and the cars running into each other, mid-90s.

I remember riding the Hay Bayler. No line. Back then, Six Flags didnt have huge crowds. From what I remember

^I remember waiting in lines back than, but I always felt that Hay Baler was the most hidden ride in the park, and thus it had a short line. It was great for me to go on during the rain because it was covered, and I felt not many people knew it was there. I thought for sure, they would move into Southwest Territory, but it never came to be.

There was also a death because of Ragin Cajun. A mechanic died while in the ride area.

My favorite flat ride at Great America would have been Hay Baler. It was just an awesome ride. I got to ride it more recently at Gaugea Lake even though it's not the same one, and it's just an awesome ride. GL is gone now, and they just have a waterpark.

The best thrill ride in my opinion was Deja Vu.

Power Dive is literally your Ring of Fire (Fireball), Kamikaze / Hi Flyer / Screamer / Banzai, and so on you find at carnivals, but it was timed. Was is great? I thought it was an okay ride.

It was pretty well hidden. It was behind trees and I remember it wasnt visible on the park map :p

The ride was essentially enclosed, too, not too mention trees and if I remember correctly, another building hiding it, it was never had a line. There was little to no lighting involved that made it stand out to people on the midway, either, all the lighting was standard lights you'd find in a small building.

Shockwave was a lot better than Superman on my opinion. Shockwave is on the top for best thrill ride.

I really think we should have left Shockwave alone for a while. It was a first of it's kind and was less than 20 years old. It stood out more than Superman. I wished I would have been able to ride it at least once. Damn it. I never even saw a proper on-ride video of it. We lost Shockwave and kept Demon? Whizzer? I love Whizzer and all but that was just dumb. You see how certain rides at the park have low attendance almost every day? That should tell you people wouldn't cry too much over losing that type of ride in the future.

They kept Whizzer instead of Shockwave because Whizzer was a "family" ridee and far too popular than Shockwave. I remeber each time I went to Suix Flags, Whizzer would be almost full (as usual still) and Shockwave was a walk on.

^^What you just said was Shockwave. It had really short lines towards it's demise. Whizzer has always had longer lines than Shockwave.

However, Whizzer was supposed to be the one that went. I remember them having a sign over the Whizzer sign that said something like this is the last year for this ride. Than, the Shockwave accident happened, and Shockwave went bye bye. I think it was a much better choice.

Rides like Shockwave are at Six Flags Magic Mountain, and Six Flags Great Adventure. I feel Demon was the better ride even though it has less inversions.

I used to ride Shockwave 20-40 times a visit easily, even if it was moderately busy. That gives you an idea of how popular it was.

It could NOT have been more painful than Iron Wolf or boring than Demon.

They are probably never going to take out Whizzer for a long time. Demon is a classic, you find them at any park but its a good ride. I think the worst part on Shock wave was the drop because that kind of coaster should be that high. Its jerky on my opinion. Iron Wold wasnt painful when it was operating from 1991and 1993. But it was still new then.
