Fright Fest question

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Jackluver18 on October 4th, 2008, 3:33 pm
I hate it when there's people that just walk around and ignore the scareactors, if you're going to do that then don't come. It ruins the whole fun of Fright Fest.

^ They might just want to come to ride the rides and see the shows. Ever think about that?

I don't ignore them, I just don't get scared when they try to scare me. I don't no why but they really don't scare me.

The only ones that genuinely scare me are the pirates and the area 51 guys. The rest just don't bother to try their stuff on me because I'm not a 15-20 year old girl (Their best target)

I loved when it was in the lighted tunnel. From one side, the fog got sucked in, then the other side it would spill out and then the whole train would be full of fog and the way into the MCBR.

I think the scariness of the actors goes away when

1 they cant touch you

2 They smile and pose for pictures

3 they are not scary

Honestly unless you get scared easily they don't bother most people.

I don't get scared easy nether does my wife so we just walk up and talk to them.
That Greaser in SW war really nice, and the girl from BettleJuice was just so cute.

The following rides appeared to have fog and at the following locations...

Rue Le Morgue- whole floor area
The Birds- Underneath the grating rising up
Batman The Ride- In the Tunnel and Break run
The Predator- Underneath the main sign in queue
Pit and the Pendulum- In the Pit area. There were two foggers.
The Black Widow- One Underneath each station that rises underneath the trains.
Demon- Fog located in the first tunnel, the tunnel after the loops, the rock tunnel before the corkscrews and underneath the station.
Ricoslay- Fogger near the Pigman guy.
Snakes on a Train- Fogger inside station in the theming area near row 1 and a fogger in the exit underneath the entrance ramp.

I don't think I missed any. Didn't see any fog at Monster Mash or Fiddler's Flung.

Are you sure there's that much fog on Demon because if you're right, I'll be emailing praise to Six Flags. lol

They should operate Roaring Rapids. Granted, they are open less during Fright Fest and most people don't care for water rides during October. However, the water rides are the best part of my day during the summer. They should have built a nice little haunted house over the SWF area this year. Don't you think that would be useful?

I would go on the water rides if they were operating.

That sucks! When I went 2 weeks ago they did not have the fog on on Snakes on the train, on the break run of Batman, and they were not using alot of fog on Rue Le Morgue either.

What happens every FF is there is a lot of fog the first week, then after people hurt themselves walking into things/falling over etc and the fog is dramatically toned down.

SFGAm doesnt operate any of the water rides anymore because of staffing/budget reasons, the amount of people riding wouldnt warrant the cost of operating the ride (same reason you see them closed during the year too, obviously thats been much more closeley "watched" under the Shapiro era). Loggers Run would be closed regardless because its entrance is used for Necropolis. Rapids used to be open during FF, and if it was real cold they wouldnt open it but still would run rafts with skeletons around the ride for people to see and only have 1 person operating the ride, but its easier/cheaper to just not do anything ;).

If you wanna see something awesome, check out this trip report:

There ARE people riding the water rides :)
