Fright Fest question

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Goku1910 on October 3rd, 2008, 3:31 pm
Does Fright Fest usually get really crowded?

Me and my sister are trying to set-up a trip so SFGAm, but we aren't sure about how crowded it will be...

Crowded is an understatement.
If it walks like socialist, quacks like socialist, smells like a socialist, .... it's a socialist. Hope, and change we can believe in.

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

To give you an idea, rides that have a 2 minute line regularly are almost guaranteed to have a 10 minute + wait.

^He's telling the truth. Last time I was there, it was busy enough that Iron Wolf's queue was spilling out into the midway.

^Don't let the crowds ruin your trip. You can easily get on many rides earlier in the day. However, when you go to FF, there's much more to do than just rides.

Friday crowds are generally reasonable, Sunday is tolerable, but for the most part, unless the weather is crappy, Saturdays are out of the question.

I'm going tomorrow which is supposed to be very cold. Would that affect the crowds at all? I doubt it but just making sure.

From an insider perspective, Fright Fest is ALWAYS crowded regardless of weather or day... Fright Fest is one of the busiest times of the year for the park.. It's no different than crowds on a 90 degree Saturday afternoon in July at the park. In addition, there's something about Fright Fest in which the guests start acting ridiculously insane.. This type of behavior will not be tolerated and you will be ejected from the park..

^^I think you would have to be acting pretty stupid to get kidded out of the park during FF.

I guess all the anxiety of being attacked by somebody can get you like that. Plus, a lot of badass kids who think they own the park (You know who I'm talking about) go to Fright Fest.

Saturdays are the worst idea in the entire world.
Fridays are usually really good. Bull would probably have a half hour wait.
Sundays are like a normal day... in June.

But also keep in mind there is a lot more than coasters to keep you entertained during FF.

I hate to say it, because I like it when the lines are short, but the best time to be at the park for FF is on fridays, especially if you can be at the park when it opens.

I have found Fri'days to have short wait times, and if you get there at opening you can have almost all walk ons for the first 1 - 1 1/2 hours, and then later in the night, especially if it is cold, the waits are very short. And even duirng the busy times with the FF stuff going on the waits arent bad at all, but a warm day does make things a little bit busier.

I love going to the park when it is very cloudy, raining, and cold and walking around County Fair in the back of the park when you are the only person there....just the creepy music, the weather, and being alone is really cool, its like you in a horror movie....Athough, the only time you are really alone, or can be, is in the morning.

What creeps me out is being the only one in Southwest Territory or "Tinseltown" with the creepy music.
