It's not a time issue, it's a safety issue.

Why did they stop using Roaring Rapids or Blood River for Fright Fest? Can't they just not spray people and turn the waterfalls off or something? YC/LR no but RR would be a great option during FF.

^Ya, but I am sure that it is still to cold to run RR and you still get a little wet when you go on it even if the waterfalls are off. I am sure that if it is cold out nobody is going to go on the ride and then Six Flags is wasting money running it and having to pay the workers to stand there.

If they turned the gyser things off (Wettest part of the ride in my opinion) the waterfalls and squirt guns, there really wouldn't be an issue. However, seeing that even with 60 degree+ weather last year and it was drained, I'd doubt it would run.

I wish this wasn't the end of the water rides till 2009. I can't believe I didn't get on Yankee Clipper this year... Do they still name RR Blood River even though it is closed?

I don't think it would matter if they rename it to Blood River if it's closed. I thought I remember it being drained by FightFest anyway, so it defeats the purpose.

I wish they would keep it though, it was an icon of FrightFest.

Yes, they do. They just put hay bales in front of the entrance.

So you can see RR drained during Fright Fest? I'd love to see that!

This site says Sky Trek Tower does not operate during FF but does not mention Roaring rapids? WHY is STT closed?

there are 2 answers, you can believe whichever you'd like

1. Staffing
2. Gorilla Invasion (they do lower the cabin daily to top off the fog juice despite the gorilla, it really doesn't affect the ride)

So is it still undecided if Blood River will operate?

Don't they put the wall people on the sides of the cars anyway with the orange lights?

well yeah, obviously you would have to leave that stuff off if you were to operate it, reason they put that stuff on is cause it's not being operated.

Before they started doing that, I used to like riding Sky Trek during fright fest, along with being somewhat heated (or at least warmer inside the cabin), it was cool to see plumes of smoke rising from all over the park from fog effects and all the burning kerosene from the torches, and all the red water.

It is a shame because Sky Trek Tower gives you the best views 360 degrees. The park looks different in October than in June or July. It is also a ride that doesn't need that much upkeep and can run in just about any weather.

^Ya, that is the only reason why I go on STT, for the veiw. I would love to see the park during FF from up there. I think it would look cool. Why don't they run it?

It is also a good way to relax and cool down and you can still say you went on something worthwhile. I just don't like how they tell you to move move move to let more people in. There are not that many people when I get on it but then before the ride starts suddenly 50 people wanna go.

From what I just heard the park has no intention of removing either flume water ride. Which is great news for fans of Yankee Clipper like who ho have worried about its future. With these economic times it is good news for fans of certain rides that would have been removed already if the company could afford bigger and better rides. Not to mention newer. Whew. I don't care for the lime green color pallet but good to know YC is safe...for now anyway.
