Can anyone explain why TDK cost 7 million dollars? It's a mouse in a box with mediocre themeing! I do think that it was a greet investment for the park and chain, but 7 million? C'mon we could've spent a lot of that money elsewhere!
poor wolfie rip ( hopewe get a neww bm wingrider for next year!11!
It was actually 7.5 million and believe it or not you can't really put a coaster together for 2-3 million these days. I, however, have one major issue with TDK. WHY is a ride called the DARK Knight nothing but GREY outside? It looks more like a warehouse than a new coaster. How about using some of the money SF does make from those price increases and using it to paint some of the rides?
A new wild mouse from just about any company is around 4-5 million bucks, material prices are really high. Also for TDK it's made by Mack which of course is made in Germany which means the Dollar which sucks terribly right now inflated the cost, and of course there is S&H

Instead of getting a new coaster, why don't they start the Ride Relocation Cycle again, even though it put Shockwave to its death .That might help them get out of debt, a new coaster for a park, with out as much of the cost.

I would love that idea though I don't know how easy that is plus transportation costs are high and people hate losing rides that would go to another park.

my brother got excited about it. he read about in the paper i think and told me guess what new ride great America will get next year. i told him i wanted a coaster but he was excited about squirting people. yeah, he is 23 years old.

The Ride Relocation Program didn't put Shockwave to its death. I'm guessing that you're thinking of Z-Force, which was involved in this program.
But there were 2 reasons why it left never to return again, nobody wanted to buy it, and no other park wanted it to be put in their park for the Ride relocation Program.

No, he meant Shockwave but I'm not sure he understands everything he's talking about 100%

You know, I'm 35, and I think squirting people with water guns is going to be a lot of fun! Think about it..some poor sap standing on the midway, and you hit him in the back of the head with a jet of water. Now, that's fun!
In fact, I will be the crazy fool riding the ride when it is cooler outside, just to get people who are not riding wet!
I've said it before, and I've said it again...this is going to be a great addition to the park, and I look forward to spaying everyone I can, both on the ride, and off of it!
details on Buccaneer Battle, besides stuff we already know, the Park doesnt know when it will open in 2009, probably late april, and Buccaneer Battle they say will open on May 15. So carve that date into a stone tablet and put it somewhere safe, then on May 15 we can observe said tablet and see how far behind they are.
Though actually I think it should be ready on time if they have Mack build the ride, rather than the in house job they did for Dark Knight.
