SFGAM Music Video Member Project

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby rcoaster on September 16th, 2008, 9:38 pm
I have dedicated this thread to a project for all members of these forums.
The task is simple- Create a video of the 2008 season at Six Flags Great America.
The Summer Season has come to a close, and I'm sure many members have video clips of the season, and I believe if we put different clips together and add a theme and music, we can make a great video to put on YouTube, or possibly sfgamworld.

So what do we need?
-Video Clips taken at our home park.
-Director(s) that 'make it happen'
-People to help edit the video
-Music
-Ideas

RULES: Video Clips MUST BE ORIGINAL and may not be taken from someone without permission. The video clips and music must obviously be appropriate, and follow the forum's and Six Flags' Rules, including NO Ride POV Footage.
Send files/clips via email, so communication for this one is a must!
It would be stupid to make a deadline now, so let's see what will happen!

SEND ME THE FILES! RAW FILES! WHATEVER FORMAT< JUST GIVE THEM TO ME! SEND THEM TO THIS EMAIL: sfgamonline @ gmail.com

So let's see how this site can work together and make something cool from our prized park! Hopefully, this will turn out great!
Rides, Camera, ACTION!

I'm just letting everyone know...I can choose to edit.

I just purchased Adobe Premier Pro 2.0 as well as Final Cut. I am in school for video and have lots of experience...I have been making videos since I was 12.

I also was able to purchase a Hi-Res video camera with 0.6X lens for amazing shots.

Don't worry, I have a season pass and only went once! But i'm going to frightfest.

I suggest you call six flags and tell them that you haven't used it once. Last year I did that, and they replaced my vocher to 2008.

Hmmm...
We should start by first gathering all the video clips. First we should see what kind of stuff we actually have. Then we can vote on what we want!
So.. We want every ride and roller coaster included. Let's start by gathering all the necessary information. Who's got videos of what ride?!
Post what you have here, and you can send me some clips via email, but PM me to let me know what youre sending! I'll gather, and it seems like we already have an editor! We have some progress!
I just hope this isn't one of my ideas that turn out to be stupid....

Footage Wise...
I have footage of all the coasters

Flat Rides...
-Whirligig
-East River Crawler
-Fiddlers Fling
-Condor
-King Chaos
-Jesters
-Sky Trek Tower
-Train
-Great American Raceway
-Orbit
-Giant Drop

So I guess if i will be editing. The footage must be in a (AVI), (DV-AVI) format. To convert those you can use Windows Movie Maker and import all of your footage. Then export it as a Dv-AVI or AVI. Then email it in a Zipped Compressed file.

If anyone need a tutorial on how to do this just PM me.

Also with the footage, try to stay away from using digital cameras and cell phone footage will not work. If it is on a Digital Camera, make sure the footage is nice quality, and convert it like I said above.

______
MUSIC

Now we just need to select music that will fit the park and the season well. Or if we wanted to, it could be edited into sections of the park with the old marriots soundtrack in each section of the park.

Send me the file in a compressed format and ill decode it. I have a powerful computer, quad-core blah blah, but I can do all the long work. PM me if there are problems sending it!
I'll place myself as one of the directors. I'll try to organize all of this to make it work. I can also help edit the video out and do whatever.
Just yell out what position you want for this project and you got it! The more people working at this, the better!

Any compressed file. Send it to me in any format and I'll figure it out. The RAR file is perfect.

^ Sure! No problem!
Also... In this video...
I don't think we want a person making a fool of themselves AT the park, but just the park itself. There is no problem to be in the video, but don't hog the footage! :) If you submit a video, credit WILL BE TAKEN. We will try to put it all in the credits, but note that these things are subject to change.
I thought of starting this project long long ago, even last year, but I decided to put it off until now. Why? Camera quality improves, more available footage at this time than last year. But I think we should limits all videos to this season, and I was another project that would show the history of our park, including all the pictures and videos we can ever get. We can worry about that during the off-season, so we can collect Fright-Fest 2008 footage.

I have some really cool pictures but no video, If this works out we all should meet up for a group picture infront of Columbia! I'll send you the pictures, most from STT, but I have a few really cool ones that I used some fun with my camera with, i.e. Extended Exposure, and all kinds of fun stuff I'll send it to you right away.

OK, so it looks like we've got the video portion all but wrapped up. I'm gonna throw my hat in the ring for selecting the music to be in said video. I'm thinking "Car wash" by Christina Aguilera, that Natasha Bedingfield song....lol just kidding folks. I'll start thinking and populating a list and then submit it to the forum and we all can vote on the final tunes, based on length of video, feel of the video, and just what might sound cool in a video about a Theme Park. I think I'll try to narrow it down to, to songs that hit the airwaves and charts during the season.
Push down, then pull up. Exit to your left/right. And, enjoy the rest of your day at Six Flags! Your friendly enthusiast Kyle.

^ Yes, we should actually worry about the music more now so we can sync the clips and pictures with a beat. I was actually thinking of making a mix, not just one song, and I can actually start working on that. Then we can vote on what to change with that, and other people should submit different songs so we can vote on what we want. I got the first 20 seconds done, but now i need to find more songs. I feel we should include a song from each popular genre, and match it up, for example, give the southwest territory more of a west (country) genre, and put in some tech on rides like V2, some top chart songs and everything. We need to tell ideas of what we want and how to do it. Let's get the music! And once again, I can convert any videos, so please send me all selections and clips! Let's begin putting this all together!

Send it all to my email. I'm collecting everything now, and me and the editor(s) (one in counting now) will have it all and determine what to put in. We need the community to help guide us in what to do.

^ Yes Demon07, yes you can! I was thinking along those lines as well, if it works. I have old park music on my HD and would hope that could possibly be included as well for nostalgia purposes, perhaps even the Demon Song.
