Official Buccaneer Battle/2009 Attraction Thread

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby tp41190 on September 16th, 2008, 3:09 pm
"An current ride will be possibly soaring over a new location". Basically the new 09 attraction will be just using DejaVu's spot. Then for 2010 GAR, will be removed for making the SWFs spot bigger. Then Dare Devil Dive will be moved to SSA new location with a possible taller upgrade It's a lease, so it'd be easy to replace...And SWTs Amp Theater will be possibly removed...which makes a HUGE footprint...for what though?

Now I don't know anything about the dates/years of the ride removals...but it all makes sense. So true, GAR might not be removed NEXT season, but watch it go for 2010.

Also this has been posted before but SFI just trademarked 'Buccaneer Battle'.

O I see, sorry! I can't think of any ride that might be going over a new location.

Than, why does it say new attraction by Space Shuttle America? Dare Devil isn't new.

^No one said there isnt something else going there. Also, theres enough room for a Skycoaster and a "new attraction". Besides DDD probaly wont be moved until it needs to be moved which might not be next year.

Also, there was a chance of using the tracks for GAR for a spooky Kids hayride but it pretty much got denied.

I've decided it's a splash battle. I have no source, no confirmation, just my thoughts. What else could be named after a Buccaneer Battle?

Yes 09 = Splash Battle.
2010 = Changes posted above.

Also, A new and higher Skycoaster can be passed as a new attraction. I mean, we have one of the shortest skycoasters in the chain.

I'm really going to miss GAR, there's just a certain nostalgia about the ride, remembering better days.

^There's rides with more nostalgia than that. Anyway, let's not freak out. Nothing's been confirmed yet about it leaving the park.

Only a few more days before the announcement!

But then again in your previous posts, who are you to confirm anything?

There are people that know everything that is going on...I am friends with a couple of those people. If you work at the park and know whats going on, you cannot post here. But I am doing the work for them so they don't get in trouble.

^ I would guess it will be announced some time this week since recently, Six Flags has been doing all their announcements around the same time.
