why was brutal plant such a scary haunted house?
Brutal Planet was produced by Distortions who did most of the things on Alice Cooper's tour titled "Brutal Planet" . The house was very professionally done with some really great effects. It had the music from Brutal Planet plus the Brutal Planet sound effects playing loudly. That year they used all of the pinic grove for things like a gypsy in a cyrstal ball, "The Controller" ( Half man illususion) , A seance where you had to touch a pan and during the seance you got a mild vibration or shock. The whole thing was really cool. Inside the house there was this funeral home scene where the flowers moved toward you. Don't get me wrong, I love the MOT but this house was very very well done. Ever see the the 2 huge colums in the entrance to Necropolis? Those were from Brutal Planet too.

Brutal Planet wasn't scary - but it has more "intense" scenes then MOT has.
I occasionally wear my Brutal Planet shirt to Fright Fest.
Personally, I like the MOT genre of Haunted Houses better - more in your face - darkness, etc. Brutal Planet relied heavily on you "seeing" images and scenes, therefore not a whole lot of darkness. No one "scared" you really, they were in there, but acting out different skits and what not.
The whole feeling of being stuck in a house with a ton of people that want to kill you makes things more interesting. Ironically enough, because I typically have my leather duster on (much like the vampires wear during Fright Fest) one worker some years ago apologized for attempting to scare me because he thought I was working the house and didn't see the people linked behind me.
Quite funny.
To anyone on this board that has not been to the park yet this year - regardless what you may or may not hear; Fright Fest ALWAYS delivers. I have been to every Fright Fest the park has done, and I will continue to say that it is the best time to go. If you can go only 1 time a year, make it a cool night in October.

Just my two cents
Yeah it was more intenese. It was still cool though. The only thing that kinda freaked me out though is when that dang display of flowers around the casket in the funeral scene moved toward us..lol. It was quite interesting..lol. Just to get of topic here for a moment, I been hearing alot lately the The Busy Bee Haunted Barn of Terror is making a comback this year. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Are any of the grat america haunted houses really scary? I'd like to visit one. I remember last year they had some kind of haunted trail. The theming was pretty nice, but it wasn't scary at all. And also, are there any indoor?
I refuse to go in any haunted houses, I had enough of that 7 years ago at a Service Merchandise store that was in Schaumburg and we took Halloween off at school to go haunted house hunting, not fun
I'll still never forget the Twins when they got my GF's daughter..right as she was running out of the Maus..
My Gf was yelling Chelsea come back here. One of the Zombie twins came up and started saying Cheslea come here.. i want to eat your brains, running after here. Then the other zombie twin started after her too doing the same thing.. God it was so priceless. I stll LMAO when I think about it...lol. Thanks guys

I don't think we have any indoor haunted houses. (I could be wrong though)
Both of the houses are inside, and Necropolis is outside.

^ We actually have 2 indoor haunted houses. One is Studio 13, which is in SWT themed to different horror movies. Then there's Maus, which is in Necro. And for any of you who don't know, Necro is the outdoor haunted path. Necro is free, and Maus and Studio 13 are an extra fee..(Which I can't really remember much last year, but wasn't it like $5 before 5pm..if I'm not mistaken.)
Sorry, that shows you what I no about their haunted houses. For some reason I thought they were all outside. I don't understand why they charge extra to go through the haunted houses, you already paid enough to get in the park it should be free.
Its because another "vendor" comes, build the attractions, hires the people, then charges for it since its not owned by the park. Then I believe then that company will give a piece of the profit to Six Flags...so its win win for both.
I believe last year $6 b4 5 pm for hunted house! Daily prices are up online $29.99 first 2 weekend and Nov.1&2 $34.99 next 2 weekends and Oct.31 The prices been up since labor day! Now online the 09 season passes are $69.99 includes FF'08 and HH'09

O I see, I thought the haunted houses were owned by the park.
^ It supposed to be a family friendly environment during the day so that probably why it wouldn't fly. One year (2006 I think) I saw a guy talking to security for wearing his costume. I didn't stick around to see if he got kicked out or they made him change but it was still interesting.
