^^ Alright... I guess how that kind of makes sense, but standing water does not really indicate a splash battle...

No a sign in vu's spot did...
But you said that it was confirmed and that you knew, but none of us saw any confirmation, the sign says COME ASHORE WITH US IN 2009, not, A PIRATE SPLASH BATTLE IS GOING RIGHT HERE.
poor wolfie rip ( hopewe get a neww bm wingrider for next year!11!
Not to stray to much from topic, I want to thank you for pointing out that I did not have Dare Devil Dive on the list. However, I'm trying to remember if that was new in 1996 or 1997. 1996 is when Southwest Territory opened. One of the rides put into this new section was Ricochet (aka Big Top). Big Top used to sit in the spot that Dare Devil Dive now sits.
So, I don't remember if that spot was empty in 1996 and then Dare Devil Dive was added in 1997, or it was added the same year that Southwest Territory opened.
In any case, it was missing from my list. Just need to confirm the year!
And now, back on topic!
I'm not sure what to think about putting an attraction over the service road. I know it has been done before (Iron Wolf), so we will just have to see what the next few months bring.
Yankee Harbor would be a logical place in the park to put an attraction themed to pirates though. However, I have not visited LTNP this year, so I cannot comment on how crowded it has been. But, with the closures in Camp Cartoon, and the addition of Wiggles Word in 2007, the park may be looking to move the kiddy rides from 3 areas to 2.
You all know what? This is what makes this time of the year fun. The park puts up a sign that says "Come ashore with us in 2009" and another one that says "Future site for new attraction". Between now and whenever the park does an official announcement, we will throw out our ideas, thoughts and suggestions, on here, and then discuss, ponder and debate whatever this (or these) new attraction(s) may or may not be. And the best part? The management of the park is probably reading all this, and laughing their heads off over the fact that we, the members of this forum, have spent the last month (379 posts, 6965 views) discussing two simple signs, and a crane made to look like a pirate ship!

^ Yeah, I almost enjoy this forum MORE during this time of the season, and the down time during the long WISIL winter lol. All the speculation surround if, when, and what may or may not come next year. The reactions to what is announced. All the updates from you folks that live down in Gurnee and the like. With all the questions about next year, it should be just as fun an off-season, as it was going to the park this season.
Push down, then pull up. Exit to your left/right. And, enjoy the rest of your day at Six Flags! Your friendly enthusiast Kyle.
Is a splash battle the only water ride that they can afford? C'mon they move like snails and you know nobody over the age of 9 will want to go on it. Even a Vekoma SPin Coaster would be a better idea. A little more expensive but cheaper than a dive machine and it is a coaster and what County fair needs right now is another high thrill ride. There is a reason County Fair is deserted in the morning and they open at 11 A.M after Vu and SWF left nothing drove the public there.
And it is sad because you never want to lose a great ride like Deja Vu replaced with something so...kindergarten...wait that is an insult to all kindergarten kids out there. If you are not Magic Mountain or Great Adventure you don't matter as much.
^ It's sad because we lost a 20+ year old ride that was a just about as much of an icon than the carousel, for a coaster that was lucky enough to last as long as it did. Thanks Burhke and Co!!
If it walks like socialist, quacks like socialist, smells like a socialist, .... it's a socialist. Hope, and change we can believe in.
Out of Sky Whirl, Deja Vu and Splash Water Falls, I miss and wish it was here the most......SWF. I do agree with everyone who thinks SFGam needs a Ferris wheel.
What exactly does our park wait for, as far as announcing stuff, do they wait until around when fright fest starts? I see so many other parks that just announce new rides so much earlier.
I hope we get a water coaster. I don't want a Stingray boring slide like at Noah's Ark. I don't care for the splash battle. I wish we have gotten a dark ride Scooby Doo ride instead of you shoot the targets with a water gun, and get splashed on by other people.
"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"
This site rumors that posiable for '09 rides! http://www.sfgamerica.go.pl/ This must have been from polish decent visitor or worker form the park This site posted TDK photos under construction!
My Thought is take out one water ride and replace it with a newer and fun water ride! I good Choice
HH is Packed on hot Days! The water-park needs more things to do and adding an attraction helps with the lines.
Placing a ride the near the entacence and parking lot can realy showcase the a new ride!
A new entrance to the water-park helps with not walking all the way around to the park.
In '10 the 5 year ann. maybe a separate gate as long it's include in the season pass as a perk!
