Every time i ride AE i always wonder how they would reverse the trains on it for when they ran it backward. I was hoping that somebody possible worked there when they did it so they could explain how they would do it. Thanks
"The rides are GREAT, The shows are GREAT, the fun is GREAT. At Marriott"s GREAT AMERICA!"
I don't know about that but it was in danger of doing some major damage to the structure so they stopped after the 2005 season. It would be cool to see it run backwards.
Going backwards was in my opinion better than forwards because you climbed the lift hill backwards and didn't know when it was going to drop. Also the drop seemed to go on forever.
Just "flipping" the trains was the beginning...all of the breaks, prox switches, and photo eyes also had to be re-positioned. Basically, when you mess with a ride that was never intended to travel in a direction it was meant to travel, you run into danger. It will never be done again.
I think they need to move the brake fins on the cars and flip the lift chain dog and anti-rollbacks. I didn't know they had to change the sensors along the track. I didn't think it was that fun backwards- forward let's you look down the drop. It was fun to race and look into the faces of the passengers on the other train. They always put blue side backwards and red side is the best.
