I have been very negative lately. Deja Vu was obviously my favorite ride. Splashwater Falls was the first ride I ever went on at Great America. This was back in 1998. It hurts to see my two fave rides gone with nothing but dirt and concrete left behind them. However, it's time to move forward. It's time to think of all the reasons I keep going back. Yes, there are a lot of them.
#1 Raging Bull (1999-) #2 The Flash Pass #3 V2 (2001-) #4 Keeping the park clean 24/7 #5 Batman: The Ride (1992-) ***First Batman at any Six Flags park*** #6 Superman: Ultimate Flight (2003-) #7 Dedicated, helpful, nice and fun employees #8 Roaring Rapids (1984-) #9 American Eagle (1981-) #10 King Chaos (2004-) #11 DareDevil Dive (1997-) #12 Giant Drop (1997-) #13 Fun games #14 Sports bottles #15 The Dark Knight (2008-) #16 Yankee Clipper/Logger's Run(????) #17 Viper (1995-) #18 Demon (1976-) #19 Surprises (Free parking for season pass holders) #20 Raging Bull new paint
^ Then let's turn it into something. What are you thankful for having at our Six Flags? The first post listed some good things. Im thankful for... Raging Bull ...and all other coasters at the park, including Dark Knight. All the time and effort that is gone in the park The fun employees The smell of Churros, peanuts and funnel cakes along Midway Those cool breezy nights on Deja Vu Riding Eagle at night when it's litten like an oranament Going on raging bull 5 times in the row Riding raging bull at night, front row, with my jeans smacking against my legs haha... small things for me.. but good memories and memories is what Great America has given me and i thank it for that.
How is it pointless? Because of all the coasters I listed? They are my reasons. It basically goes from most to least important. Without Bull, V2 or Batman I probably would not be going much to Six Flags. Bull was the best decision the park ever made. V2 is always the scariest. Batman: The Ride was born at Great America and me and my brother love how smooth and intense it is at the same time.
the gold Flash pass for sure! after riding everything so much, waiting in lines on a blazing hot day just isn't worth it if i have the 35 bucks to spare

Aren't you glad we didn't get Mr Freeze instead then?

the people dont really look for the parking pass just the season pass. they think you know what you are doing when you come up to the gate so they just let you through. I went with a friend and my pass has a parking pass but his doesnt. we held up his just to see if they even look and they said go on through
I don't think it's an every-day kind of thing. Shh....We need to be quiet. But, yeah, I saved $25. How sweet. He was really nice and we saved 5-10 minutes because it was packed by the gates. We parked near Superman and we could not have been happier.
ok to help ypu with something demon was actualy built in 1980 even though it was there when the park opened, it was turn of the century, and clipper and loggers run were both built in 1976.
sorry my pet peeve is details
"The rides are GREAT, The shows are GREAT, the fun is GREAT. At Marriott"s GREAT AMERICA!"
Raging Bull's smoothness and airtime. American Eagle's pure thrill. Viper's smoothness (for a woodie) and airtime. The smell of the park in general...no matter how expensive the cause of it may be. Lol. Our new roller coaster, that I think is great. The nice employees who know the park even better then I, who I can have friendly conversations with.
Well I'm thankful for the park in general...it completes my summer. I don't see how this thread is pointless anyway.
Why is one with a flash pass and the other not? I hear the park may be thinking about removing the twin water rides due to age and upkeep and bring in a bigger, newer more interesting water ride later on. This is what my friend who lives in Gurnee tells me. Of course, with SWF gone I don't think we are in danger of losing LR/YC anytime soon. People still love them.
I'm thankful for the Indians helping us survive the winter in the 1600's and I'm also thankful for the asian on the commercials because even though he is ridiculuous he's better than the crappy animation commercial last year.

Yeah I don't think that they are leaving any time soon. They still get a lot of riders. I have waited over 45 mins for Yankee Clipper and Logger's Run. They are also family rides.
I am just thankfull that six flags great america is just there. Otherwise I would have to go to the dells each year to get my coaster fix in. Other than that I am thankful for raging bull. I love that ride.
