I really don't think that we will be getting a new dive coaster for 09. A major B&M would take 9-11 months to open. And we would have seen some sort of clue already by now. I had really high hopes before but now I don't think it is possible. The only thing I could think, that could be built in a short amount of time, would be a wooden coaster, a flat, or another kiddie area.
the thing with the IW trains are that there used to be heavier trains, then they got new light weight trains and they bounced around more, so all they need is new trains and it should be smoother
"The rides are GREAT, The shows are GREAT, the fun is GREAT. At Marriott"s GREAT AMERICA!"
Another idea is to give Iron Wolf new trains, build a building around the ride, and turn it into a dark ride, like Space Mountain at Disneyland or the Rockin' RollerCoaster at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
Another idea i've thought of is a roller coaster called Skull Mountain, a high-tech ride like Expedition Everest, that starts out going through a cave of the realistic 120' mountain, going through scenes of the apocolipse, then as it goes up the lift hill, you ascend twoards a distant light, surronded only by stars, when everything turns to fire and the devil sends you to hell. Then you go down a 100' drop into an underground tunnel, themed like a cave with firey walls and ceilings. Then you go up onto an island in a blood lake, go through a helix, the dive back underground through hell. Then you do one final helix in the mountain, one outside of the mountain and then go to the brake run. The trains will be themed like old mine cars, and have onboard sound systems, playing diferent music at diferent times of the ride (ex. Disturbed or Slipknot going through the fast parts.
I don't know why people get their expectations so high for The Dark Knight, I mean how big of a roller coaster can really fit in a building smaller than Superman Ultimate Flight?
They are NOT going to put in ANOTHER kids area. We already have Camp Cartoon and Wiggle's World. V2 and Deja Vu both came to be in 2001. I don't think a dive machine would be impossible. They can get started before the summer ends.
There is plenty of time left. a dive machine is not too big and construction can begin late summer or early fall and still make it. The area is too noticeable to not do something special with it for 2 years.
Well anyways, ideally, what I would like to see go in this newly vacated area would be a coaster similar to Fahrenheit at Hershey, but realistically I don't see that happening. Honestly, I would love any type of major coaster go in the park, Fahreinheit-esque or not, but I just can't picture it happening, despite how much the sum of all the information we know points in that direction now more than ever in the past handful of years. I guess my dissapointment of the park additions over the past several years is to blame, but all I'm willing to expect is an addition similar to Marde Gras a couple of years ago, connecting both sides with some creative engeering to avoid the car ride (I forget the name) or the removal of it. I see the addition of a couple new flat rides, maybe one of which will appeal to thrill seekers.
What almost concerns me more is the state of live entertainment in the park. The award shows they are showing right now are really saddening because I enjoyed the shows over the past years (minus Spy Girl). I guess I just need a renewal of faith in the Six Flags management.

Well they usually start working in late August or early Septmeber, so it is still possible! If it opened around Memorial day , like they usually do, then that would be 9 months exactly! We will know something is happening by the end of July, because if something big is going in they will start on preliminary work, like marking, tree trimming and most likely demolition on SWF site! Here's hoping!
I wish it was as easy as calling B&M asking, "Did Six Flags Purchase any Dive Machines from you lately?". Atleast it'll tell us if any park will expect any... Here is a whole Chance chart. Probably wrong. Maybe right. Things can happen!
|Possible Ideas|.........|Chance| Dive Machine................16%' 4th Dim (X2).................3% Giant Inv. Boomerang.. -14% (opt out of total) Other Vekoma Coaster.... 0% Other S&S.................. 11% Other B&M..................13% MACK........................ 22% Intamin/Other..............6% Flat ride/Kids area........ 29% ------------------------------------------------- Chances of getting a rollercoaster... 71% Chances of getting a Flat ride........ 29% ------------------------------------------------- Chances of getting a thrilling coaster/ride.... 41.89458% Chances pf getting a dull coaster/ride.... 58.10542 ------------------------------------------------- Computed by: The Past
Recently I E-mailed guest relations asking "is it true that you are planning to add a roller coaster some time in the next 2 years" they replied "We are continually adding new attractions... Keep your eyes open!"
Pretty dull answer if you ask me!

Well...of course they aren't going to answer with any specifics (if they even know anything yet)
