Would the Dark Knight be better if.....

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby acer711 on June 18th, 2008, 10:22 pm
Do you agree with me that The Dark Knight should just be pitch black with no lights or animitronics. So you get the feeling of "Where am I". I mean there is lighs ruining the ride. I know that it goes with the theming but should'nt it go along with the name

i believe "dark" knight refers to the color of batman's costume
"Prepare for launch. Goodbye"

This is what I would do to make TDK better.
1) Play those old Batman TV shows with the Joker, not that Six Flags media network stuff. I went in and heard Kelly Clarkson music. That destroyed the atmosphere.
2) Run the ride at maximum capacity. From what i've heard they're having problems with the lift. Fix it and start running 10 cars and not 6.
3) Better theming. I couldn't see it. It all was kinda small and not lifesize, especially that Batman sculpt. I don't want to slow the ride down but if it's needed to see the theming than I would do it.
4) After all of the theming have complete blackness.
That's all I have right now.

Man do we have some coaster critics! Really guys, try and be realistic. Demanding perfection when something isnt perfect doesnt work when you dont have a solution. Beggars cant be choosers either, you say "fix the lift so it runs at max capacity"..... ok, how are you going to do this? If you dont know how to fix it or have a solution idea, dont complain. The themeing, yes it could be more lifesize but A. theres NO room for that, its a mouse..... B, the buildings only 7 stories, again no room for anything life size, C. theres something in life called money.... some of the stuff you guys want SF cant afford... sorry, get over it. And as far as the queues go, the commercials are again how SF has to pay for stuff. Yes their annoying but when youre in line, do you really even watch those? Hell, the lines so long i dont even dazzle at the "scenery" anymore, i talk with my friends. Really guys, we cant be naive here, we just cant. TDK is as good as money will get us right now and for now, youll have to deal with it.

There are 2 Batmans in the ride. The first is on the first 180 degree turn, and the other I believe is at the base of one of the drops on the motorcycle.

I wish they would paint the New Building Gray and Put in Black Letters "Gotham City Warehouse." Maybe I'm just picky but a White Bland Building doesnt scream "Batman" to me.

I wish that instead of the Indoor Mouse, It was a:
- Gerstlaurer Euro Fighter with Inversions

OR

- Sally Interactive Dark Ride (That would work perfectly with the storyline and theming. Put it on the Same Category/ level as Challenge of Tutankhamon at Walibi Belgium. NOT THE SAME THEMING BUT SIMILAR STYLE!!!)

^My guess is that in the plans it said their was going to be mist. Mist and metal don't go together and their wouldn't be a way to catch all of the water. I say at least put the pipes in and add water sound effects.

I'm down with the Adam West Batman reruns in the queue!

Or maybe just loop the original (1960's) Batman Movie :)

Pipes- one of the things that were cute. And yes, mist and metal would have been bad but more air would have done the trick just fine with water sound effects as traincrossing said.

Dark night would be better if it was demolished and a real coaster was put in its place.

They could use a fog machine for the pipes. Also with the mist, I would be fine if there was mist. They would just need to blow air over it to dry it out. And it could only turn on when the train was near. Think about rain and outdoor coasters...it would be the same with mist and TDK.

I say during the turns have the light since you already know that there is going to be those 6 turns, ,but during those drops and stuff, try to make it pitch black!
