Dark Knight coaster confirmed for SFGAm in 2008

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Indiana Jones themed ride would have been better. Run away mine cart makes more since. We all ready have one batman ride we don't need 2! Well we can hope for a big coaster next year. Ride OP said they would know by Jan. if they where getting a coaster. They must know before that because they where advertising for TDK at fright fest last year.

There is no way Lucas would allow a Indiana Jones themed ride in any SF's park.
With Indy attractions already in WDW/DL/DLP you wont see one in a SF park, escepically since a Indy ride alone would likely cost as much as all the improvement's SF made for all there parks this year.

An Indy Jones ride in a SFI park! I could never see it because he has way too high standards and already is somewhat hesitant to even let Disney do things. He has to approve all the ideas and say what he wants. He expects the best, and SFI cannot provide such a budget. Otherwise, it would have been cool

I finally got a chance to ride this thing twice on Saturday. First time i waited an hour and a half, the second time two hours. The ride itself i enjoyed quite a lot. Easily the best mouse coaster I have yet to ride. The vehicles were really well done, they were very comfy, and the whole ride just ran really well. It definetly went fast for a mouse!!! The scenery was a disappointment, but there were some effects (especially the one before the largest drop) that were knock-out great! Overall, as a family ride and as a fun ride, it was DEFINITELY a success!!!! As a thrilling coaster (which some people anticipate while waiting in line), it is nothing to brag about. My largest disappointment was the preshow, though, for some reason I thought it was really slow moving and not engaging at all. It did nothing for me to prepare/get ready for the ride.

As for the comments i've read lately. There were NO misters or anything like that in it, however, all the other effects illustrated were there. The leg room is larger in the front than in the back (I rode both rows). Also, in terms of the mask camera, it was lagging hard core when we were there, but people still enjoyed it, it was a nice touch to the line!

As a whole, i think the ride will have mixed reviews all season. People only expecting a thrill ride, or something comparable to the intensity of the movie will be severely dissappointed. However, those expecting it to be a simple dark ride will be blown away. I wouldn't place it above RB, V2, Viper or any of those, but it's a better enjoyment for me than Superman, Eagle, Cajun, and those kinda rides.

Finally, the theming in line turned out well, the theater has never looked that good!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I experienced the dark night today
I thought the tv's in the line were great though, provided nice entertainment. They really need to cut back on the six flags commercials though. Not only were they so overplayed that they got annoying, but we're already in the park so why do we need to see more advertisements for the park we're already in? The pre-movie was okay I thought the walls at the end of the video were the best part. But yeah I really didn't even know that it was preshow when I went in there. The last group was so backed up that they were still partly inside the room so we thought we were suppose to go all the way through. The hallway after that was a little... plain. I thought the queue was suppose to go through twisted hallways or something? Some joker graffiti would have been a nice touch. I liked the screen at the end of the hallway but yeah it was definitely lagging. The speed of the mouse was sweet but it went so fast that I'm pretty sure I missed half of the scenary. The quickness also added to the short length of the ride.

So I finally rode TDK yesterday. My main complaint is that it needs more theming!!!! There are some corners in there that you go around, and there was nothing there. It was like, "ok, that's a nice black wall...". I've heard that the pipes need to still be installed, and that some things got cut from the budget. I thought that the queue was all right, but the SFTV was a bit distracting. Maybe if they had had the TVs in there with something batman related that I would have been more satisfied. The posters were nice. Danhockey and I were discussing yesterday that it would be cool if there was a batman anamatronic (sp?) in the front of the queue, but those things cost way too much.

The pre-show room was definitely awesome. If I were a little kid though, I would have been scared out of my mind. I thought it was awesome though. People also seemed to have a problem with the fact that we moved towards the door rather than stayed in the nice orderly line we were in in the queue. It's a large empty room people! It just seemed like common sense to spread out...and we spread out towards the door. :D The cars were pretty nice, and I did think they were comfy. I just think the inside of the ride needs a bit more theming. Some of the stuff I didn't even notice as we were zipping by. I also liked that the mouse wasn't a spinning one, because I tend to get sick on some spinning rides. Overall, I think it is a decent ride, but I wish there was more theming.

I personally think it's probably just a fake site related to the ride. I doubt that its' a real service.

You should go on it. It is a good ride, you just need to know what to expect. I think we as enthusiasts know what SF is capable of and pretty much know what this ride is supposed to be. I wasn't expecting much from it, but I found it rather enjoyable. Just don't wait too long to ride it. Probably ride it once early in the day, but then wait until the end of the day to ride. You'll get a ton of rerides if you wait until about an hour before close.

why woudn't you go on it? It's a brand new ride. At least go on it for the experience. If you don't like it, then you never have to ride it again if you don't want to.

It is a real site, but it only has a picture, three paragrahs about the fake service and a close-up of the map of Gotham City. Pointless. It should have something related to the ride.

I just called it. It is kinda cool. Also, when it asks for a PIN # at the end of the message, type 6773. It will play 2 more messages. Not sure if there are any other PIN #s.
