^isn't it a warehouse of sorts now? Is the building always going to be there? Will the space shuttle/building be gone ever?

This makes me realise about what Six Flags is really wasting. There still going to use the building for other stuff. I mean, how much is Six Flags going to loose by keeping the ride open? Same with DejaVu, and SWF...they have no plan with those areas, and I dont see why they couldnt wait to take them out until they needed the space.
^^ I imagine GAm has plans for those areas as every article that mentions them says the attractions were removed for *future expansion* as well as to reduce operating costs...so, the areas are "bare" but I do think they (the park) know what will happen with those areas.

I had no idea that they cost that much to operate. Especially SSA, I wouldn't think that it would cost a fortune to run.
Don't quote me on this but, it's not just the operating costs, it's all the other stuff. You need to have a few people to operate the ride. When the ride breaks you need to make sure you have enough mechanics on hand for when all hell breaks loose. During the morning inspection, it is yet another ride that needs to be checked, (time lost there and money too if they can't check all of the rides). With SSA, it's the cost of running the air conditioner (which never seemed to run), running the giant projection screen, running those seats (which, i believe to be the same as lifting and rockin and rollin a car per seat).
I don't know if all of that contributes to the XXX,XXX figure that Mr. Fan stated but seems logical enough.

I have not been on here in a long time because taking a job at the park... I now work for Cedar Fair. SSA was my ride when I worked for the park... Everything about that ride cost alot of money. If you ever really looked around when you went on the ride, you would have noticed that at any given time there was at least two row disabled... The crew could turn these rows off and on but most of the time ride maintenance would turn these rows off from from a room somewhere in the ride area. Everyone could see this rides coming to a close... Six Flags know what to do with the ride from here... PS. the building isn't being used for anything... its just sitting there.
Im sure that SFGAM is saving money by not operating these rides, but besides factoring in cost savings, also what should be factored in the loss of 3 rides with only the addition of one new ride, im also not certain if they are planning a every day replacement for Spy Girl.
So while the park does save money, the guests in the park have 2 less options when it comes to visiting attracions, and people who did visit these attractions will be elswhere in the park making lines longer.
