Here's the thing. It's only a 40% chance of rain, and this is over a week in advance. Things are prone to change. While the temperature isn't too warm, it could fluctuate just like the rest of the forecast is apt to. I tried doing a 1 week outlook before I went to Great America once, and the weather was nothing like it was forecasted to be. However, this could very well be what it's like on opening day.

In case you didn't know, that is PERFECT opening day weather.

As long as it stays cloudy, and a drizzle in the morning goes as planned, it'll be perfect.

That weather is perfect for keeping people away :D . Also, it will most likely change a lot by the 26th.

Ah newbies, always worried about crowds.

If it does turn out to be crappy as predicted right now, I won't waste my time going. There's always the next weekend.

dude its opening day, plan on it to be bad. There has been worst, I have been there when it was freezing cold on opening day, and I hated being there, don't let a little rain stop you from going.

Not only that but thats still far away to tell whats going to happen for sure.

I hope it is cold and rainy opening day. I dont know what it is but I just like being at the park during bad weather...even if I cant ride rides for a while.

I think one of the best times I had during Fright Fest was when it was 38 and rain. Me and my ex girlfriend were the only people in the back of the park and the music combined with the weather made a creepy experience. Then we were the only people on America Eagle, while it was racing, and we had to cover our face it was raining so hard. And the rain made American Eagle Red have some of the best airtime I have ever had on the ride.

So if the weather is crappy, it ok for me....no crowds, fun time.

A. Never fully trust anything past 3 days because the chance for the weather changing is very likely past 3 days.
B. Never trust The Weather Channel. Use, http://nws.noaa.gov or http://wgntv.trb.com/news/weather/
This is where I would usually put stuff. Can't think of anything right now... =/

ok heres the thing with that...weather channel and the national weather service's forecasts are virtually the same, because weather channel gets their forecasts from the national weather service...so technically you can use either or, depends on what you feel more comfortable with. and i dont trust wgntv weather for shit. all the news based weather is bull.

How dare you use Tom Skilling's name in vain.

If he said hell was going to freeze over, I'd believe it.

this sucks. :(

Hm, 51 and partly cloudy sucks huh......

Everyone, opening weekend weather always sucks. Its good for us fanatics because we dont care about rain too much and it dulls down the crowd.

Don't believe a forecast unless it's within 48 hours. And then be skeptical. It could be anywhere from 30 to 85.

In the name of the Kocin, the Forbes, and the Dr. Skilling...

Have you seen how commercial TWC has gone these days? There about as reliable as Accuweather, who btw wanted to shut down the free flow of weather info and make you pay outrages amounts for it. I still laugh at there 30 days forcasts.

WGN is probably the best source of weather on TV because it is being run by Tom Skilling. Tom Skilling is one of the top and best meteorologists in the meteorological community. Do not disrespect him. If he said this planet was going to freeze over and die, I'd believe him.

I watch the weather to see what it will be like opening day too. But then, I think to myself, why? Does not matter to me if it is going to be 85 and sunny or 25 and a blizzard. Its Opening Day, and I'm going no matter what the weather is.

Sure, rides may be closed if it rains all day, or not running if its a blizzard (park would probably not open in that case), but again, the weather does not matter to me. I'm going on the 26th no matter what Mother Nature throws at us! :D

^ If there are large cows flying around at SFGAm, and one hits me, I would have a great story to tell my grandkids! :D

"That's right son...I was waiting in line for Superman, when out of no where, here comes this flying cow!" :D

Now it's down to a 30% chance. Lets hope it rains but not pours! We don't want it to be too wet, but just enough to keep the crowds away!
Top 3 Steel Coasters: 1. The Incredible Hulk 2. Maverick 3. Dragon Challenge (Fireball)

Top 3 Wood Coasters: 1. The Beast 2. American Eagle (Red) 3. Hades
